Count it yourself: the 19 letters of the Basmalah

"Over it is nineteen." (74:30) Khalifa's published figure: the first verse (1:1), known as 'Basmalah,' consists of 19 letters. The Quran consists of 114 suras, which is 19 x 6. Open any Arabic Quran, write out the first verse and count the written letters. Post what you find, including if you count differently, and how you counted.
