Plain text of Book 10
10.1 The angels drew waters with their store of sweetness, succulent and observant, king-creating,
wherewith kings of old were sprinkled, wherewith they were guided past their foemen.
10.2 Wave of the male art thou, giver of kingship. Do thou, by God's leave, All-hail! bestow on me the kingdom.

Thou hast a host of males, giver of kingship. Do thou, All-hail! bestow on me the kingdom.

10.3 Swift at your work are ye, givers of kingship. Do ye, All-hail! bestow on me the kingdom.

Endowed with strength are ye, givers of kingship. Do ye bestow on me, and on this man, the kingdom.
O'erflowing floods are ye, givers of kingship. Do ye bestow on me, and on this man, the kingdom.
The waters' lord art thou, giver of kingship. Do thou bestow on me, and on this man, the kingdom.
The waters' child art thou, giver of kingship. Do thou bestow on me, and on this man, the kingdom.
10.4 With sun-bright skins are ye, givers of kingship. Do ye bestow on me, and on this man, the kingdom.
Brilliant as suns are ye, givers of kingship, as before.
Bringers of joy are ye, givers of kingship, as before.
Dwellers in cloud are ye, givers of kingship, as before.

Together with the sweet let sweet ones mingle, obtaining for the ruler mighty power.
Rest in your place inviolate and potent, bestowing on the ruler mighty power.
10.5 Brilliance of the Bountiful art thou: may my brilliance grow like thine.
Hail to the Radiant! Hail to the Bountiful! Hail to the Light-giver! Hail to the Giver of speech! Hail to the Nourisher! Hail to the Lord of the sacred word! Hail to the Mighty! Hail to the Proclamation! Hail to Fame! Hail to the Apportioner! Hail to the Distributor of fortune! Hail to the Companion!
10.6 Ye are two strainers, belonging to the All-Seeing. I make you pure at the impulse of the Light-giver, with flawless strainer, with the beams of the sun.
Thou, friend of speech, heat-born, art undefeated. Soma's share art thou. Hail, ye king-producers!
10.7 Sharers in joy are these majestic waters, inviolate, industrious, investing;
in these, as in homes, are the signs of the All-Seeing's power, in the best of nourishers.
10.8 Thou art the inner caul of princely power. Thou art the outer caul of princely power. Of princely power thou art the womb, the navel.
Thou art a strong arm of might. Thou belongest to the Friend and the All-Seeing. With thee to aid may this man overcome the Obstructor.
Cleaver art thou; thou Render; thou art Shaker. May God by these protect him in front, protect him rearwards, protect him sidewards; from all quarters guard him.
10.9 Visible, O ye men, let it be made known. Known is the master of the household; known is God the Mighty, of exalted glory; known are the Friend and the All-Seeing, the maintainers of Law; known is the Nourisher, Lord of all possessions; known are heaven and earth, the all-propitious; known is the broad earth that gives wide shelter.
10.10 Appeased by sacrifice are biting creatures. Ascend the East. May the Gayatri protect thee, the psalm Rathantara, the triple praise-song, the season Spring, and the rich treasure, the priesthood.
10.11 Ascend the South. Be thy protectors the Trishtup, the Brihat Saman, the fifteenfold praise-song, the season Summer, and the treasure, kingship.
10.12 Ascend the West. May the Jagati protect thee, the psalm Vairupa, the seventeenfold praise-song, the Rain-time, and that store of wealth, the people.
10.13 Ascend the North. Thy guardians be the Anushtup, the Vairaja psalm, the twenty-one-fold praise-song, the season Autumn, that rich treasure, fruitage.
10.14 Ascend the Zenith. May the Pankti be thy keeper, the Sakvara and Raivata, the pair of Samans,
the praise-songs, the thirty-threefold and thrice-ninefold, both seasons, Winter and Dews, that treasure, lustre.
The head of the evil one hath been cast from me.
10.15 Brilliance of the Bountiful art thou, may my brilliance grow like thine.
Keep me from untimely death. Vigour art thou, victory, long life.
10.16 With golden splendour, at the flush of morning, rise on high the sun and the lights.
By God's command, thence view infinity and limitation.
Be thou a friend, be thou a keeper of the law.
10.17 Thee with the strength of the Bountiful, the Radiant's lustre, with the Light-giver's splendour, the Mighty's might I sprinkle.
Be lord of princes: safe past arrows may God guard him.
