Plain text of Sixth Prapathaka · Sixteenth Khanda

6.16.1 "And also, my dear, they lead up a man seized by the hand, and call: 'He has stolen! He has committed a theft!' If he is the doer of the deed, thereupon he makes himself untrue. Speaking untruth, he covers himself with untruth, and is ruined. Then he is punished.

6.16.2 But if he is not the doer of the deed, thereupon he makes himself true. Speaking truth, he covers himself with truth, and is saved. Then he is released.

6.16.3 So it is that truth preserves, and falsehood destroys. God is the Truth. He is the Lord of your soul; and you, Svetaketu, are His servant."

Then he understood it from him, yea, he understood.
