Plain text of Sixth Prapathaka · Second Khanda

6.2.1 "In the beginning, my dear, there was only God, one alone, without a second. To be sure, some people say: 'In the beginning this world was just nothing, one only, without a second; from that nothing came being.'

6.2.2 But verily, my dear, whence could this be?" said he. "How from nothing could being be produced? On the contrary, my dear, in the beginning there was only God, one alone, without a second.

6.2.3 He willed: 'Let Me create.' He created heat. Then He willed again, and created water. Therefore whenever a person grieves or perspires from the heat, then there is produced water, either tears or perspiration.

6.2.4 Then He willed again, and created food. Therefore whenever it rains, then there is abundant food. So food for eating is produced just from water."
