Plain text of Hymn 20 God the Radiant

1 With lauds at break of morn the priest invoketh God, the Dawn, the Swift One, and both the Healers.

With one consent the angels whose light is splendid, longing to witness our worship, shall hear us.

2 Three are Thy powers, O God, three Thy stations, three are Thy tongues, yea, many, Child of Order!

Three bodies hast Thou which the angels delight in: with these protect our hymns with care unceasing.

3 O God, many are the names Thou bearest, Immortal, God, Divine, and Knower of all things.

And many charms of charmers, All-Inspirer! have they laid in Thee, Lord of true attendants!

4 O God, like the Bountiful One, Thou leadest the godly people, Thou who art true to Law and guardest the seasons.

Ancient, all-knowing, He the slayer of the obstructor shall bear the singer safe through every trouble.

5 I call on the Light-giver, the God, on Morning, the Lord of Prayer, and the Swift One, and the Radiant One,

On the All-Seeing and the Friend, on the Healers, the Bountiful, the Good, the Avenger, and the Sustainers.
