Plain text of Hymn 12 God the Mighty and God the Radiant
1 Moved, O Mighty and Radiant One, by our hymn, come to the precious gift: partake of it, impelled by song.
2 O Mighty and Radiant One, with the man who lauds You comes the wakening rite:
So accept this offering assured.
3 Through force of devotion I choose the Mighty and the Radiant who love the wise:
With the provision given for Your sake let these be satisfied here.
4 The Mighty and the Radiant I invoke, joint-victors, bounteous, unsubdued,
Foe-slayers, best to win the spoil.
5 O Mighty and Radiant One, singers skilled in melody hymn You, bringing lauds:
I choose You for the sacred food.
6 O Mighty and Radiant One, You cast down the ninety forts which the enemies held,
Together, with one mighty deed.
7 To the Mighty and the Radiant reverent thoughts go forward from the holy task
Along the path of sacred Law.
8 O Mighty and Radiant One, powers are Yours, and dwellings and delightful food:
Good is Your readiness to act.
9 O Mighty and Radiant One, in Your deeds of might You deck heaven's lucid realms:
Famed is that hero strength of Yours.
