Plain text of Book The Eighth · HYMN LXXII. All the Powers of God (Visvedevas)
1 We choose unto ourselves that high protection of the Mighty God That it may help and succour us.
2 May He be ever our ally, the Upholder, the Friend, the Noble One,
Far-seeing, who prospers us.
3 Furtherer of holy Law, transport us safe o'er many woes,
As over water-floods in ships.
4 Dear wealth be the Noble One to us, the Upholder dear wealth meet for praise:
Dear wealth we choose unto ourselves.
5 For Sovereign of dear wealth art Thou, Sustainer, not of sinner's wealth,
Sapient God who slayest the foe.
6 We in our homes, O Bountiful One, and while we journey on the road,
Invoke Thee, O God, to prosper us.
7 Regard us, O Mighty, All-Pervading, O Healer, and Thou who art Lord of the winds,
Us who are Thy servants.
9 Then come with Thy mighty help, as early day, O Bountiful God
Yea, I address Thee now for this.
