Plain text of Mandala 4 · Hymn 42 God the All-Seeing and the Mighty

I am the royal Ruler, Mine is empire, Mine who sway all life are all the angels. The angels obey and follow My will. I am the King of men's most lofty cover.

I am the King, the All-Seeing. Mine were given these first existing high celestial powers. The angels obey and follow My will. I am the King of men's most lofty cover.

I am the All-Seeing and the Mighty: in their greatness, these the two wide deep fairly-fashioned regions, these the two world-halves have I, even as the Maker knowing all beings, joined and held together.

I made to flow the moisture-shedding waters, and set the heaven firm in the seat of Order. By Law the Upholder of Law hath spread abroad the world in threefold measure.

Heroes with noble horses, fain for battle, selected warriors, call on Me in combat. I, the Mighty, the Bountiful, excite the conflict; I stir the dust, Lord of surpassing vigour.

All this I did. The angels' own conquering power never impedeth Me whom none opposeth. When lauds and gifts have made Me gracious, both the unbounded regions are affrighted.

All beings know these deeds of Thine; Thou tellest this unto the All-Seeing, Thou great Disposer! Thou art renowned as having slain the obstructors. Thou madest flow the floods that were obstructed.

Our fathers then were these, the Seven his, what time the son of Durgaha was captive. For her they gained by devotion Trasadasyu, a mighty king, like the Mighty One's champion, conquering foemen.

The spouse of Purukutsa gave offerings for Your sake, O Mighty and All-Seeing, with homage. Then unto her You gave King Trasadasyu, the mighty king, the slayer of the foeman.

May we, possessing much, delight in riches, the righteous in devotions and the kine in pasture; and that milch-cow who shrinks not from the milking, O Mighty and All-Seeing, give to us daily.
