Plain text of Psalm 1
A Psalm of Solomon.
I cried unto the Lord in my sore distress, even unto God when sinners assailed.
Suddenly the alarm of war was heard before me. He will hearken unto me, for I am full of righteousness.
I considered in my heart that I was full of righteousness, because I was prosperous and had become plenteous in children.
Their riches were gone forth into all the world, and their glory unto the ends of the earth.
They were lifted up to the stars; they said, We shall never fall.
But they waxed haughty in their prosperity, and were not able to endure.
Their sins were in secret; and I knew it not.
Their transgressions were greater than those of the heathen that were before them;
The holy things of the Lord they had utterly polluted.
