In the name of the Great Living God, glorified be the exalted Light.

Sum-Kusta stands, recites and teaches. Sum bar Nu, Sum, stands in faithfulness and says: "I was not a son of this house, and my form was not of the perishable things. My root is not of the world, and the wicked do not prevail against me. The planets stood up again and speak with me: 'O stranger, who have neither lord nor lady, what will you do alone in a place where the wicked are so many? If they loose grave sickness against you, who will be a physician to you? If the wicked bind you in their fortress, who will be a deliverer to you? If they cast snares on your road, who will be a saviour to you? Who will be a saviour to you, who a rescuer? You are a house whose master has left it and whose builder has departed from it. The Lord took His own counsel and ascended wholly to the place of light. Now you have fallen into our hands, so that you shall not fall out again. You are bound in our fortress, that you cannot free yourself. You have been seized by our grip and shut in by our works. You are shut in our fortress, so that your helper cannot reach you and the Man, your support, cannot ask after you.'"

When Sum bar Nu heard this, tears came to him and did not cease. "It is as though God were not there," he says, "nor the Knowledge of God at the place of light. Silmai and Nidbai have made off, and Sunday has ascended on high. The eve of the day has left me, and the angels who brought me here have forgotten me. My ablutions are lost, and they do not remember my mark in the house of my Father. They have forgotten my words and my books, and my prayer of the night has come to nothing. The hidden guardians have left me, and the men who brought me here have abandoned me."

When Sum bar Nu said this, the messenger, the helper, came flying. The great helper came, the messenger whom God had sent. He broke down their watch-houses and made a breach in their fortress. He said to him: "Why do you weep, Sum bar Nu? In the blink of an eyelid I have come here. What have the wicked done to you, what have the sinners committed against you, against you whom all the angels have come to love, for whom the earth of light is a support?" The chosen one calls out teaching to the man Sum and says: "What have the wicked done to you, that your heart has fallen into discord, that you say: 'It is as though God were not there, nor the Knowledge of God at the place of light. I am a house that its master has left and whose builder has departed from it. Silmai and Nidbai have made off, and Sunday has ascended on high. They have forgotten my ablution, and my mark is not remembered in the house of my Father. They have forgotten my words and books, and my prayers of every hour have been hindered. My worship has come to nothing, my prayer of the night has come to nothing.' God reckoned His own reckoning and His measure for every time. Sum, who said that you should be bound here and that the wicked should hold you captive in their fortress? A man whose name is written in the presence of the Great Living God is not bound in the dwelling of sinners. He whom his helpers ask after is not seized by the grip of the wicked. The burning fire does not consume him. Think of us and call us, that we may invite you to us and you may find a support in our dwelling. The Seven who persecuted you will perish, but you will ascend to the light."

And God is victorious.
