Plain text of The White Eagle

73.

In the name of God, the Ever-Living, the Great, and by the precious Truth.

A white eagle am I, whom my kin have forgotten. My kin have forgotten me; woe, woe to the servant of light whom his own kin forsake. So, yes so, it goes with every servant of light who listens to the chatter of his kin. Whoever listens to the chatter of his kin, they cast him down deep to the gates of darkness. I, Hibil-Ziwa, listened to the chatter of my kin, and therefore I fell down, and for me there was no rising. I searched and did not find; I ran and did not arrive. I brought a defect upon myself and so let my rich radiance dwell in the darkness. I drew upon myself the contempt of the servants of light, and the servants of light do not wish to come near me. I crouch on the couch of darkness, and in garments of darkness I lie. So, yes so, it goes with every servant of light who descends into the darkness. Gone is the crown that was set upon my head. Gone are the speech and the answering of prayer that were granted to me. I, Hibil-Ziwa, sat down from the darkness by the walls and raised my wondrous cry:

"I said to myself, I shall be great; who has made me small in the world? I said to myself, I shall be gentle and support the lowly and the humble; I said to myself, listen to the chatter of the great; yet how wondrous is the headband that they have bestowed upon me. I said to myself, I shall be modest and submissive and walk the way of the perfect, which draws great and small; I said to myself, I shall be king; who has brought me to the place of darkness? It grieves me for my kin, that I must let loose the darkness against them. It grieves me for my brothers and sisters, that I must let loose darkness against them. It grieves me for the plantation that I planted, that I must leave it at the gates of darkness. So, yes so, it goes with every man who wishes to be gentle. To a servant of light who is called gentle, they have never yet granted ease and abundance. They have not bestowed upon him ease and abundance, nor granted him to plant a plantation. They have not let him sit as a servant of light, whoever is called gentle. Wondrous is the headband that they have bestowed upon me."

God is exalted and is victorious, and victorious is the man who has come here.
