61.
In the name of God, the Ever-Living, the Great, may the sublime Light be glorified.
Who will come, who will tell me; who will make known to me, who will teach me; who will come, who will tell me, who opened the gate for the Euphrates-of-light and dug its two banks? Who made the earth firm and stretched the heaven gloriously above it? Who drew rays of splendour upon it and gave light to the angels in their dwellings? Who baptized with the living baptism, and who marked with the pure mark? Who scattered seed in it, and who was keeper in it? Who founded dwellings in it, and who built temples in it? Who raised the call of life and gave light to the wide palace? Who
and tied the crown most excellently? Who set up the bucket in it and was called physician there? Who gathered the share of the Great One and brought it victoriously up to the place of light?
God knows this; God knows it and need not ask. God knows that by His command Yawar opened the mouth of the Euphrates-of-light, and Joshamin dug its two banks. By His command Ptahil made the earth Tibil firm and stretched the heaven gloriously above it. Bihram drew the rays of splendour upon it and gave light to the angels in their dwellings. Silmai baptized with the living baptism, and Nidbai marked with the pure mark. Adam scattered the seed, and Seth was keeper in the world. Enosh-Uthra founded dwellings in it and built temples in it. Hibil raised the call of life and brightened the wide palace. Yokasar tied the crown most perfectly. Haiyasum set up the bucket in it and was called physician there. Bar-Haije gathered the share of the Great One and brought it victoriously up to the place of light.
God is victorious, and victorious is the man who went forth to this place.
