Plain text of The Faultless One
56.
He who keeps himself faultless in it, his dwelling will be at the summit of the world of light. Angels gather about him and pledge their friendship to him. They pledge their friendship to him and take from him ... and upon his head they set a great crown, such that it illumines the worlds. They set a wreath on him, a wreath of victories, and they call him "Illuminer of the Dwellings." He to whom the knowledge of the Great God has not come, his heart fell ... He rather belongs to the knowers of the truth, with whom truth abides, whose mind is enlightened and whose heart is awakened. He whose mind is not enlightened and whose heart is not awakened will find his place in the dwelling of the wicked. He falls into dark pots, and his form does not shine. But he whose heart is awakened and whose mind is enlightened shines more than the sun and moon. He shines more than the sun and moon, and spreads renown and fragrance in the world. Every day disciples gather about him, receive the sign from him, and ascend by his strength, by God's leave. For the power of God is entrusted to him, and the word of God rests with him. When his soul ascends, he is not put to the test in the watch-houses, and the planets do not pronounce judgement on him. He does not walk on the path of immorality, and his eye does not see the darkness. He goes forward on the path of the men of proven piety, on which "Sunday" walks. They ascend by hidden words which the darkness has hidden from the perishable. They ascend by secret mysteries, whose form is hidden and kept from the worlds.
Blessed and again blessed is he who withdraws from the world; he ascends and sees the place of light. He who does not withdraw, but remains lying idle, will find his place in the belly of the dragon Leviathan.
God is exalted and victorious, and victorious is the man who went forth to this place.
