Plain text of Three Wishes
46.
From the place of light I came forth, from you, radiant dwelling. From the place I left, an angel from the house of God accompanied me. The angel who accompanied me from the house of God held in his hand a staff of living water. The staff he held in his hand was full of tendrils of excellent kind. He handed me some of its foliage, and my ailing heart found healing in it. Again he handed me some of it, and books were filled with it. A third time he handed me some of it, and he raised the eyes in my head. He raised my eyes in my head, and I perceived my Lord and knew Him. I perceived my Lord, I knew Him, and I made three petitions to Him. I asked Him for a strong heart, by which great and small things can be borne. I asked Him for gentleness, in which there is no rebellion. I asked Him for smooth roads, that I may ascend in safety to the place of light.
God is exalted and victorious, and victorious is the man who went forth to this place.
