Yahya preaches in the nights, Yohana in the evenings of the night. Yahya preaches in the nights and says: "The wheels and chariots of heaven trembled. Earth and heaven weep, and the tears of the clouds flow down."

"My father," says Yahya, "was ninety-nine and my mother eighty-eight years old. From the reservoir of the Jordan they fetched me by God's command; they brought me up and laid me in the womb of Enishbai. 'Nine months,' they said, 'you shall remain in her womb, as all other children remain in it.' No midwife," he says, "brought me into the world in Judea, and they did not cut my umbilical cord in Jerusalem. They made no false image for me, and they hung no deceitful bell for me. I was born of Enishbai in the place Jerusalem."

The place Jerusalem trembles, and the wall of the priests totters. Elizar, the great house, stands there, and his body shakes. The Jews gathered and come to Aba Saba Zakhria and say to him: "O Aba Saba Zakhria! You must have a son. Tell us then what name we should give him. Shall we give him the name 'Wisdom-Jaqif', that he may teach the book in Jerusalem? Or shall we give him the name Zatan-Estuna, that the Jews may swear by him and not swear falsely?"

When Enishbai heard this, she cried out and said: "Of all these names that you mention I will give him not a single one, but I will give him the name Yahya-Yohana, which God Himself has given him." When the Jews heard this, they were filled with evil anger against her and said: "What weapon shall we make for him and his mother, that he may be killed by our hand?"

When Enosh-Uthra heard this, he took the child and brought it to Parwan, the white mountain, to the mountain Parwan, where infants and little ones are raised with the water of blessing. There I remained until I was twenty-two years old. There I learned all my wisdom and fully acquired all my speech. They clothed me in garments of splendour and covered me with veils of cloud. They wound around me a girdle, a girdle of water, that shone and gleamed beyond measure. They set me in a cloud, a cloud of splendour, and in the seventh hour of a Sunday they brought me to the town of Jerusalem.

Then a voice cried out in Judea, a proclamation sounded in Jerusalem. They cry: "Which woman had a son who was then stolen? Which woman made vows for him and was unconcerned about them? Which woman had a son who was stolen? Let her come and look after her son."

Who told Battai, who instructed Battai, who told Battai to go and say to Enishbai: "A youth has come to Judea, a prophet has come to Jerusalem. A youth has come to Judea; beside him stands his guardian angel. His mouth is like yours and his lips like his father Aba Saba Zakhria's. His eyes are like yours and his brows like his father Aba Saba Zakhria's. His nose is like yours and his hands like his father Aba Saba Zakhria's."

When Enishbai heard this, she hurried out unveiled. When Aba Saba Zakhria saw her so, he wrote her a bill of divorce. The sun murmured down from heaven and the moon from its place among the stars. The sun opened its mouth and said to Aba Saba Zakhria in Jerusalem: "O Aba Saba Zakhria, a youth has come to Judea, a prophet has come to Jerusalem. A youth has come to Judea; why do you send Enishbai away?"

When the youth saw her alone, he freed himself and fell down from the cloud. He freed himself and fell down from the cloud and kissed the mouth of Enishbai. When Enosh-Uthra saw him, he said to Yahya in Jerusalem: "Is it written for you, Yahya, in your book, is it explained to you on your page, to kiss her alone on the mouth?" — Then Yahya answered and said to Enosh-Uthra in Jerusalem: "Nine months I dwelt in her womb, as long as all other children dwell in it, without her bearing it unwillingly; therefore it is no burden to me now to kiss her alone on the mouth. No, blessed, and again blessed, is the man who repays father and mother with good. A man who rewards father and mother has no equal in the world."

When Yahya said this, Enosh-Uthra knew that Yahya is a wise man. Then Enosh-Uthra said to the sun in Jerusalem: "Watch over the youth, the man whom the King has sent. Watch over the youth until we call for him." Then Enosh-Uthra said to the moon in Jerusalem: "Watch over the youth, the man whom the King has sent. Watch over the youth until we call for him."

God is exalted and victorious, and victorious is the righteous man who has come here.
