Plain text of 21
Yahya preaches in the nights, Yohana in the evenings of the night. Yahya preaches in the nights and says: "Do I not stand alone? I go to and fro. Where is there a prophet whom God has favoured as He has favoured me? Who preaches like my sermons, and who speaks with my wondrous voice?"
When Yahya spoke thus, the two women weep. Miryai and Enishbai weep, and tears run down from both. They say: "We will go, and you stay here; see to it that you do not make us stumble. I will go, and you stay here; see to it that you do not make me stumble. I will go, and you stay here; see to it that you do not fill me with grief."
Yahya then opened his mouth and said to Enishbai in Jerusalem: "Is there anyone who could replace me on high? Is there anyone who could replace me in the house of the Mighty One? Is there anyone who could replace me on high, that you might ransom me? If you are able to ransom me, bring your gems and ransom me. If you are able to ransom me, bring your pearls and ransom me. If you are able to ransom me, bring your gold and ransom me."
Enishbai then opened her mouth and said to Yahya in Jerusalem: "Who is like you in Judea, who is like you in Jerusalem, that I should look at him and forget you?" — "Who is like me, who is like me, that you should look at him and forget me? Before my voice and the voice of my sermons the readers no longer read in Jerusalem. The fornicators ceased from their fornication, and the women did not go out to their frivolities. The brides come in their garlands, and their tears flow to the ground. The child in its mother's womb heard my voice and wept. The merchants do not sell in Judea, and the fishermen do not catch in Jerusalem. The women of the Israelites do not clothe themselves in coloured garments, the brides put on no gold and the noble ladies no jewels. Women and men no longer look at their faces in the mirror. Before my voice and the voice of my sermons the water rose in rows of columns. Before my voice and the voice of my sermons the fishes brought me their greetings. Before my voice and the voice of my sermons the birds glorified God and said: 'Blessed are you, and again blessed are you, Yahya, and blessed is the One whom you worship. You have freed yourself and escaped, Yahya, and left the world empty-handed. The women have not led you astray by their fornication, nor have their words confused you. By perfumes and scents you have not forgotten your Lord from your mind. You have not been intoxicated with wine and have committed no wicked deeds. No apostasy has seized you in Jerusalem. You have freed yourself and escaped and set up your throne in the house of God.'"
And God is victorious.
