A soul am I of the Great Life,

a soul am I of the mighty Life,

a soul am I of the Great Life.

I am made firm by the grace of my Lord.

Made firm am I by my Lord's grace,

I shine in the splendour with which they enlightened me.

I could not yet rejoice in the grace of my Lord,

could not yet grasp the splendour with which they enlightened me.

Treacherously they placed me in the Tibil,

treacherously they drove me from my place and my abode.

They drove me out and took me from my abode,

chased me away from my father's house.

Struck down and slain shall be the deceiver who adorns bodies,

who with his schemes fashioned the delusion of the world.

Struck down and cursed shall be the planets

that stood at the head of his host.

I will escape from under their hand,

go and receive the grace of my Lord,

receive the splendour with which they enlightened me.

I will rejoice in all His treasure,

be made perfect through all His wisdom.

As the soul stands and reflects,

the man, his helper, draws near,

the great helper draws near:

"If you wish to receive the grace of your Lord,

to receive the splendour with which they enlightened you,

if you wish to receive all your treasure and rejoice in it,

if you wish to be made perfect through all your wisdom,

if you wish to set yourself right,

endure and dwell in the world.

Endure and dwell in the world

until your measure is full for you,

until your measure is full

and the number granted to you is complete.

Then I shall come to you with rich splendour

and with light without end."

Very long I endured and dwelt in the world,

until my measure was full.

My measure was full and my number complete,

and my helper went and came to me.

He took me away from their midst,

lifted me up and set me upright in the house of perfection.

I grasped the grace of my Lord,

grasped the splendour with which they enlightened me.

I rejoiced in the treasure which my Lord created,

and was made perfect through His wisdom. —

And God is victorious.
