Plain text of Fifteenth Book, Twentieth Piece
In the name of the Great Living God
be glorified the exalted Light.
Who will come, who will tell me,
who will make known to me, who will teach me,
who will come, who will tell me,
who was on the earth of light?
Who was on the earth of light,
who is older than whom,
and who was before whom?
The Living God knows it well,
the Living God knows it and need not ask,
the Living God knows it well,
that the Living God was on the earth of light.
On the earth of light was the Living God,
and by the Living God the water came into being.
By the Living God the water came into being,
and from the water came the splendour.
From the splendour came the light,
and from the light came the angels.
From the light came the angels,
who stand and praise the Living God.
The good one in his rich power,
in the splendour that the Living God granted him,
recites and teaches the perfect
within this world.
He says:
"The man who brought me here
will tell me why he brought me here.
The house in which I dwell
will tell me who built it.
The seven who dwell in it
will tell me whence they came."
To you I say and declare,
to everyone who is truthful and believing in his inmost self:
You were not from here,
and your root was not of the world.
The house in which you dwelt,
this house the Living God did not build.
The seven who dwell in it
do not ascend to the earth of light.
You, honour and praise
the place from which you came.
Praise the man of tested righteousness
who set up the word in your mouth.
You, tread down and overthrow the seven
and cast shame upon the world.
The Living God is exalted and victorious,
and victorious is the man who has gone this way.
