In the name of the Great Living God

be glorified the exalted Light.

When the chosen, pure one went:

The Living God created me from His midst.

From His midst the Living God created me,

and of His gentleness He put something into my mind.

He clothed me with splendour,

He brought light, very great, and covered me with it.

He armed me with His armour and said:

"Go, be a strength to the Second.

Teach him, that his heart may shine,

strengthen him, that his mind may shine.

Instruct him about the tranquil mysteries

that were before the rebellious mysteries.

Teach him about the sweetness

in which there is no bitterness.

Teach him about the sons of the stock of the Living God,

which is older than the sons of the vain dwelling.

Teach him about the great Jordan of the Living God,

from which he obtained victory.

Instruct him about the great crown

that is set upon the heads of the angels.

Teach him about the sons of the great stock of the Living God,

who stand, bow and praise."

I bow and betake myself,

until I arrive at the house of Josamin.

When Josamin saw me,

he leapt up from his throne

and addressed me, Hibil-Ziwa.

He said:

"You are the faithfulness of the Great Ones,

you who went and came into the world.

You went, came into the world

and opened a gate to the world.

A gate to the world you opened

and set up a path for the believers.

You are the master of the Ganzibras,

upon whom your splendour rests."

I taught Josamin, so that his heart shines,

I strengthened him, so that his mind shines.

I taught him about the tranquil mysteries

that were before the rebellious mysteries.

I taught him about the sweetness

in which there is no bitterness.

I taught him about all the works of the Living God,

which are wondrous and strange above all things.

I took Josamin by the palm of his right hand,

and the question of the beings of light I put to him.

I said to him:

"I granted you power by the exalted voice of the Living God,

from which you received victory.

I granted you power by the Pihta, Kusta and Mambaga,

you head of the whole stock.

At the first creation

what man came into being?

What man came into being,

and who was it in whom there was lack and defect?"

When Josamin heard this,

his heart fell from its support.

He said:

"At the first creation

nothing lacking or faulty came into being.

At the second creation

nothing evil came into being.

At the third creation

splendour was increased over all the angels.

At the fourth creation

I, Josamin, came into being.

At it I, Josamin, came into being,

and in me there was lack and defect."

Then I said to myself: "How shall I now address Josamin, so that he

does not say: Hibil-Ziwa has now taken on arrogance toward me?"

Then I said to him:

"You, our Lord's servant, your splendour is rich and shining,

for all lights are set up for you.

You sit there and light up the whole stock.

Good one, come and light us up with your rich splendour

and with your endless light, which I have brought you from the house

of the Great Living God."

I go and betake myself,

until I arrive at the house of Abathur.

When Abathur saw me,

he leapt up from his throne.

He leapt up from his throne

and addressed me, Hibil-Ziwa.

He said:

"Has he not come to me?

Yes, behold, Hibil-Ziwa has come to me!

The Great Living God blessed you,

and the guarded souls strengthened you."

Then I said to myself:

"I will address the angel Abathur,

that he may remain quietly seated on his throne."

Then I said to him:

"May faithfulness keep you safe, good one,

and keep safe the word in which you have expressed yourself."

I go and betake myself,

until I arrive at the house of Ptahil.

When Ptahil saw me,

he leapt up from his throne.

He leapt up from his throne

and addressed me, Hibil-Ziwa.

He said:

"O shoot, who grew great in the ether,

who created you, who charged you?"

Then I answered him:

"The Great Living God created me,

the Mighty One has strengthened me here."

Further I said to the angel Ptahil:

"Why is your prayer not recorded in the house of the Great Living God,

and why does your form not shine in the place of light?

Why has the Great Living God not blessed you

and granted you the treasure that is not taken away?"

Then he answered:

"Why should I step forward, bow and praise the Great Living God,

when He does not thank me for it?"

When Ptahil spoke thus,

he lamented over himself and wept.

He lamented and wept over himself,

sat down and wrote a note to the planets.

Ptahil gathered the demons,

gathered the frail host.

The frail host he gathered,

and they lie in wait to kindle strife.

When Hibil-Ziwa saw this,

he sat down and wrote a letter to Abathur.

Abathur went and betook himself there,

he and the four hundred thousand myriads of angels who are with him came.

The angel Abathur sat down

and wrote a letter to Josamin, the king's son.

Josamin, the king's son, then went and betook himself there,

holding in his hand the mace of living water.

The mace that he held in his hand

was such that the demons see it and are terrified.

He took the great sword

by which the demons are slain.

Josamin, the king's son, went and betook himself,

until he came to Hibil-Ziwa.

"Let me strike Ptahil with the great sword,

destroy him and cast him down from the throne.

I will strike him with my mace

and split his head.

I will strike them with my great mace

and put out their blazing fire."

Then Hibil-Ziwa said to him:

"Be calm, Josamin, king's son,

for the Great Living God has calmed Himself in kindness."

When the First Living God heard this,

He knew that it was a folly of Hibil-Ziwa.

He then wrote a letter of faithfulness

and sent it to the frail house.

Ptahil opened it and read it

and saw that the First Living God had forgiven him.

He then shouted at the demons

and scattered the frail host.

He said to him:

"Take care now, Hibil-Ziwa,

it is entirely your folly."

Then Hibil-Ziwa and Abathur arose,

as well as Josamin and all the angels.

They installed Ptahil in his own dwelling

and addressed him:

"Pleasant is the fragrance of the soul,

as your fragrance is pleasant, dear soul.

"Pleasant is the splendour of the Great Living God

and the enlightenment of the mighty Living God."

Then the angel Ptahil answered

and addressed them:

"How the splendour has risen over the courts of your countenance,

angels, my brothers,

and how wondrous is your splendour!

Wondrous is the place where the Great One is enthroned,

unbounded is His praise."

The Living God is exalted and victorious,

and victorious is the man who has gone this way.
