In the name of the Great Living God

be glorified the exalted Light.

The disciples question the man

who has come from the Great God.

The disciples speak to the angel

whose glory they beheld:

"Tell us, you son of the Great God,

how you came from the Great One.

From the Great One you came

and went into this world."

Then the angel answered them,

the angel whose glory they beheld.

He said:

From the Great One I have come here,

from the Chosen One I went forth.

The Great One wished me and sent me out;

I have come to teach His own.

I went and taught

all the sons of the Good One,

who had to endure and bear.

By Him this house was created

and the works in it set in order.

To heaven and earth

firmness was granted by Him,

to the sun and the moon,

which give light by His leave,

to the wind, the fire and the water,

the courses of this world.

Thus the water poured forth

and the joining of this world was established.

Thus the wind was created

and the planets received their course.

I went and taught them,

and the truth was granted to the disciples.

He shone in his enlightenment

and became mighty over all the worlds.

When the worlds saw him, they fell into fear,

and the one who is called a deity in the world was terrified.

Namrus, the mother of the world, addresses him and says to him:

"You overthrow

the lords of this world.

Be our head,

and we will stand behind you."

Then he answered and said

to Namrus, the mother of the world:

"When I came here,

the Great One wished it and sent me here.

The Great One wished and sent me here,

and I came to teach His own.

To the chosen I have come here,

why should I wake the sleepers?

To the good I have come here,

why should I wake the sinners?

To brightness I have come here,

why should I accept turbidity?

To the gentle I have come here,

for the rebellious I have no desire.

I have come to wake the watchful,

who are worthy of the bright dwelling."

When Namrus heard it,

she raised her voice and wept:

"I told myself that the angel would not come,

but he revealed himself and came

and overthrew the lords of this world.

He came, instructed his disciples

and set up for them a way to the place of light."

The disciples rejoiced and praised

the angel whose glory they beheld.

He taught [the disciples]

and established (among them) the fellowship with the place of light.

The Living God is exalted and victorious,

and victorious is the man who has gone this way.
