Plain text of Fifteenth Book (9)

They will not behold the knowledge

that was created from the dwelling of the first, mighty God.

It will be taken from them,

and they will sink down to the nature of the place of darkness.

The hidden prayers will be taken from them,

which they understand from the world.

The hidden orders of prayer will be taken from them,

taken the well-equipped ships.

The rite for the dead and the baptism will be taken from them,

and these will ascend to the place from which they came.

The hidden treasure will be taken from them,

and it will be put in charge of the great Jura, the treasurer.

He (the bad Mandaean) will be torn out of the light

and blaze in the lowest Gehenna.

He will fall into the boiling cauldrons

and burn in the fire while it burns.

He will see the grief of the rebels

and die a double death.

Everyone who is perfectly chosen, pious, truthful and firm in faith

will not be cut off from his place.

He will not be cut off from his place,

but will be included in the precious fellowship.

He will be shown the brightness of the root

and set up in the hidden light in excellent manner.

He will be clothed with a garment of radiance,

wondrous and unbounded.

He will be covered with a turban of light,

that shines and gleams beyond measure.

A girdle, a girdle of (living) water will be bound about him,

in which there are no pains and sufferings.

An ether-crown will be set on him,

taken from the vine Rwaz.

When he departs from his body,

a guide will go to meet him

and lead him up to the dwelling of the great God,

wondrous and unbounded,

to the place where God is enthroned:

none who sank down from the height did come away. —

And God is victorious.

Jawar is equipped by higher beings and instructed about secret things. Further, Abel-Ziwa is instructed by the great soul and sent to the Nasoraeans to teach them. He is especially to show them the importance of the oil that is used for sealing. Whoever is sealed with it will behold all hidden things.

In the name of the great God

be glorified the exalted light. —

By God's command, in the radiance and the sandarac tree,

they appointed Jawar and set him over all things.

They taught him the knowledge

that is wondrous and unbounded.

They set him over the great mountain, whose radiance is wondrous

and whose light shines and blazes beyond measure.

They made enlightenment for him,

by which he is instructed.

They granted him hidden speeches,

wondrous and strange to the world.

They taught him about the great Jura.

They taught him about the great Nsab

and the dwellings that he has founded for himself in the place of light.

They taught him about Zarzel-Ziwa,

the gentle, firm soul.

They taught him about Josmir the angel

and the dwellings that he has founded ......

Abel-Ziwa spoke to his Maker as follows.

He praised the great, mighty soul,

who had established knowledge for him in perfect manner.

He had instructed him, taught him and enlightened him

about the hidden things.

He had taught him about the living baptism

and the pure oil of this world.

He had taught him about the Nasoraeans

when they depart from their body.

He said to him:

"Go to the Nasoraeans

who are left behind in the world.

Say to them:

When you depart from your body,

you will ascend with the pure oil.

For important and precious is the pure oil

that has come from the House of the great God.

Whoever does not ascend with the pure oil

will have to wait at the guard-houses

until he ascends with sixty-one letters;

then he will be set upright in the worlds of light.

He will behold the vine Taurel,

that rests in the Jordan of the pure Tarwan.

He will behold the tree Tatagmur,

that rests at the Jordan of the Lord of Greatness.

He will behold the vine Rwaz,

from which the blessing of life goes forth.

From it the blessing goes forth,

and all angels are fragrant with its fragrance.

He will behold the vine Josmir,

that rests on the earth of Sam-Ziwa.

He will behold the vine Sarhabel,

that rests on the earth of Abel-Ziwa.

He will behold the seven canopies

of radiance, light and glory,

stretched over the wondrous vines.

He will behold the two pure mountains,

that sit calmly in their place.

He will behold Jawar, the great radiance, the first vine,

that rests on the earth of the mighty, first dwelling.

He will behold the vine Sar,

that is set up on the first earth.

He will behold the vine Pirun,

that rests on the earth of "She was firm, made and accomplished".

He will behold the great vine,

that rests over the fruits of the foreordained Jawar.

He will behold the great vine,

the nurse of the souls of the infants, who are brought up through it.

They drink from its buds and rejoice,

and their souls blossom.

Their souls blossom

and obtain abiding place in the world of light.

He will behold the great Jura,

will behold the concealment that he has made for himself.

He will behold Adatan and Jadatan,

who sit at the gate of the House of God.

He will behold Silmai and Nidbai,

who dwell in the great, hidden, first cloud.

They dwell in that cloud

and are set over all Jordans.

He will behold Joshamin the pure,
