Plain text of Fifteenth Book (7)

and let the seven know nothing of thy garment

nor of the cloud in which thou art sheltered.

If they fall into great anger,

let a letter of Truth come from thee to us.

Then we will send thee a messenger,

and we will be a guardian to thee.

We will send thee wide strength,

wide and endless.

We will send thee wide strength

and great, mighty trust from His place.

We will send thee help

before which the seven shall tremble.

We will grant thee hidden prayers

and songs that do not pass away.

We will grant thee hidden prayers

by which the rebels are held down.

Thy disciples shall find firmness,

who dwell in the vain dwelling.

They shall be confident through thy confidence

and be delivered from the seven.

From the seven they shall be delivered

and give thanks to God and to thee.

To the Nasoraeans who are zealous

be thou a witness.

Be thou their witness,

and by thy strength they shall ascend to the place of light.

They shall be wrapped in the north air,

the vine that was raised from the dwelling of the mighty, first God.

They shall be clothed with the garments of the great God

and set upright in the bright dwelling.

They shall be set upright in the bright dwelling

and added to the city of the angels.

The Nasoraeans who are not zealous

will sit in pride and wrath.

From those who are not zealous

strength, firmness and speech will be taken.

Strength, firmness and speech will be taken from them,

and they will be struck with a blow for which there is no healing.

They will be struck without finding healing,

because they were first and notable ones.

First they were and notable ones

and beheld anxiety, fear and terror.

Every blow of the darkness

took place with them through the word.

Every blow of the light

took place with them through the word.

They did not stand firm, let themselves not be warned

and knew no fear and anxiety.

Fear and anxiety they did not know

and did not see that they will depart from the world.

Since they did not reflect and did not see,

they shall be blotted out from thy page.

They shall burn in the fires of the seven

and become a portion of the rebels." —

And God is victorious.

Sixth Piece

Jokabar-Kusta goes from the House of God to the pious believers, to equip them for the struggle against the wicked. He brings them teachings and admonitions, and revelations about the past and the future.

In the name of the great God

be glorified the exalted light. —

I am Jokabar-Kusta,

an angel who left the presence of my Lord and came.

I came with hidden radiance

and with light without end.

I came to the men of tested righteousness,

in whom there is neither lack nor lie.

I brought them speech and hearing,

as the great God commanded me.

I brought them secret speeches,

that they may show their wonder-working strength against the monsters.

When Abel was the guardian of the age,

I was the messenger before him.

I set up the throne for him in his cloud,

and I enlightened him in his garment.

Then Abel in his majesty set me

over those who love his name.

I brought them mighty speech,

wondrous and unbounded.

I made chariots for them,

I granted them witnesses (of every kind).

I granted them hidden prayers,

by which the rebels and their peoples are bound.

I granted them steel spears of living water,

by which the hmurthas of the house are broken.

I granted them swords of (living) water,

before which the giants of darkness are terrified.

I granted them mighty presses,

by which the whole root of darkness and of the black water is pressed together.

Well it becomes the men of tested righteousness,

as they sit in their chariots,

as they sit in their chariots

and cast down the monsters of this world.

When Abel was the guardian of the age,

he called me, Jokabar-Kusta.

He called me and made me a messenger

and set me as ruler over the men of tested righteousness.

As ruler over the men of tested righteousness he set me,

and I became their guardian.

I appeared to the rebels and the twelve stars,

and they fell down from their chariots.

I became their helper,

and by my strength, the strength of Jokabar-Kusta,

the poison of the destroyers became ineffective.

Their form became dark,

and the power of their chariots was lamed.

They stood before the men of tested righteousness,

and these obtained from them all they sought in perfect measure.

When Seth was the guardian of the age,

the Nasoraean faith came into the world.

All that is made and created came into being then.

The men set apart arose,

who separated themselves from the world.

The men set apart arose,

who ate nothing in which the rebels hid.

They did nothing of their works

and were not cut off in the world of Siglun.

Their form did not grow dark

and their name was not cut off from the place of light.

Then I, Jokabar-Kusta, taught you,

the shoots that have sprung from them.

I said to you:

"Do not perform invalid prayer and praise.
