Plain text of Fifteenth Book (6)
He rose and went to the House of Abathur
and descended to the guard-houses,
to make the reckoning complete in every respect.
On the day on which he is withdrawn from the Tibil,
in the hours in which he is hidden from the world,
he is made to feel pain and distress
for the stumbling-blocks that he cast against the disciples.
Anxiety, fear and terror are shown to him,
until he dies away, passes and grows dark,
and his form looks as it never was.
When he comes out of the guard-houses,
his colour is taken from him.
His colour is taken from him,
and his form looks as it never was.
Afterwards he sits in his chariot
and puts on bright rays.
They stretch strong brightness over him,
and he sets out on his journey through the world.
On the first day on which he appears,
the top of the firmament opens.
He comes out of the upper firmament
and goes to rest in the lower heaven.
Until the second day
his brightness does not shine over all worlds.
Until the seventh day of the month
he speaks in the voice of life.
In the voice of life he speaks,
because he has in mind the fear and anxiety before God.
When he is beyond the seventh day,
he has already forgotten the fear and anxiety.
To you I say and declare,
you men who bear witness to God:
Be firm and endure the persecution
in the frail house.
For soon the Tibil will perish
and the sun and the moon sink together.
The sun and the moon will sink together,
and the power of light will be taken from them.
All the firmness will be taken away
that they had in high measure.
Their form will become dark and contemptible,
and their form will look as it never looked before.
The souls who confessed them
howl and cry and weep from their place.
They say to them:
"When we were in that world,
your radiance shone over all worlds.
We bore witness to you
and revered you and praised you beyond measure.
Why has your form now become contemptible
and become dark and gloomy,
as it never was?"
The sun and moon and the rebels have no explanation
to give to their worshippers
about how it came to pass.
The rebels and their souls and their worshippers
and all their creations,
and also the souls of the children of the great people of God who
believed in them,
will sink down into the lower Sheol.
They will fall into the great serpent,
whose name is Ur, lord of darkness.
But from that day
your souls will be redeemed and saved,
the souls of our excellent brothers
and of our faithful sisters.
The souls of the truthful and faithful men
will ascend and behold the great place of light.
God is held high and is victorious,
and victorious is the man who has gone hence.
Fifth Piece
God equips Sam-Ziwa, secures him and appoints him as protector of the believers; warnings to the unbelievers.
In the name of the great God
be glorified the exalted light. —
It is the call of the pure Sam-Ziwa,
whom the great God called forth from His mouth.
The Great One called him forth from His mouth
and made helpers for him.
He made for him pure perfect ones,
to keep him company in his dwelling.
He clothed him with seven garments
of radiance, light and glory
and gave him charge over his treasure-house.
He gave him charge over the angels and the lights,
and over the Jordans and dwellings of every place.
He gave him charge over the zealous souls
and the radiance that blazes in his place.
He taught him about S'haq, the great radiance,
and about the place that He has chosen as a perfect seat.
He spoke to him of that world
which is hidden from all worlds of light.
He made Hamgai-Ziwa, son of Hamgagai-Ziwa,
and added other helpers to him.
He granted him the seven hidden, pure, guarded mysteries,
by which he may be perfectly guarded.
He gave him power over the party of the rebel chief
and said to him: "Go, guard the age.
Take heed of the people of souls;
keep them in order and lead them up to their place.
If the rebel chief is angry,
he will be held down by thy speech.
Be without anxiety, fear and dread,
and let the soul in thee not be troubled.
Do not alarm the cloud
in which thou art perfectly hidden.
Be without anxiety and fear
and say not: I stand alone.
I gave thee faithful helpers,
that they may guard thee.
They shall guard thee
and deliver thee from everything ugly.
They shall deliver thee from the sorcery of Satan, the false messiah and the seven rebels,
and from the ruin of the twelve stars.
They shall deliver thee from the sword and the ice,
and from the fire and burning of the five raging ones
who let loose fires against the Tibil.
When wickedness oppresses thee,
our voice will reach thee.
When the wicked plot against the people of souls
and arouse anxiety and fear in them,
tremble not nor quake at thy place,
