Plain text of Fifteenth Book (5)
that they die not in the turbid water,
they shall not die in the turbid water,
and the seven shall have no power over them.
Thou, living water,
go to the falling ruin,
call the call of life
and spread radiance over the house.
Be a support to the souls
who are persecuted for the sake of Jawar.
In thee they shall receive the living baptism
and in thee be marked with the pure sign.
Through thee the pains and infirmities shall be healed
that proceed from the rebels."
Then the living water said
to Silmai and Nidbai as follows:
"If I fall into the burning water,
I shall not prevail before Jawar.
A case will be made against me,
and the men of tested righteousness will blame me in the dark place.
When my root is taken away
and my brightness ascends to its place,
I too shall ascend from the Tibil
and be called to account before the precious light
for my sins and for my transgressions
with which I have sinned in the dark place.
If I, the living water,
am called to account on account of this people of the Nasoraeans,
what will you say to that?"
Then Silmai and Nidbai answered
the living water as follows:
One ascends of a thousand,
two of ten thousand.
To the dwelling of the mighty, first God
the souls of mixture and of lies do not ascend.
Everyone to whom a fault clings
is not regarded as fit by the mighty, first God.
Do thou free thyself and lift thyself up
from the pains and infirmities that the seven bring forth.
Be not like the angel Ptahil,
who rose from the black water.
He did not receive the sign from the Jordan
and was not baptised in the living water.
He was not baptised in the living water,
nor did he accept the precious Truth.
For ever the Tibil will perish,
and the works of the house will fall to ruin.
The wheels of heaven will fall into confusion,
the chains of the turbid, lightless earth will burst.
Because their makers accepted no counsel,
accepted no counsel, did not teach them,
and did not speak to them of this and that,
because they took on pride,
they sit in their own fetter.
When the house is destroyed
and the spirit of the seven ends,
the form of the twelve stars will perish,
which persecuted this people of God.
The works of the whole Tibil will fall into confusion,
and the whole firmament will be shaken.
Then Joshamin, Abathur and Ptahil will come
and behold this world.
Then a trembling comes into their heart,
and they strike the courts of their breast.
They see how the people of the souls
sinks altogether down into the turbidity.
On that great Day of Judgement
judgement will be pronounced on Joshamin, Abathur and Ptahil.
Afterwards Abel-Ziwa comes
and lifts them out of this world.
Joshamin and Abathur
will be baptised in the Jordan of the mighty, first God.
Then they fetch Ptahil
from the mists with the rottenness in which he sits.
He will be baptised in the Jordan of the mighty, first God;
in that Jordan the rottenness will be scraped from him.
He will be reconciled to God
and tell of the stocks and the fetter that he had to endure in the world.
He will tell of the grief
that befell him from his superior.
He will be called a prince of the angels
and receive charge over the whole people of the souls."
And God is victorious.
Fourth Piece
Concerning the moon: its fortunes and its effect on the world.
In the name of the great God
be glorified the exalted light. —
When the brightness was made from its place,
[the Lord] went and came to the world.
He came to the world of lack,
and the moon was granted brightness in fullness.
The One who granted him the brightness
called him, equipped him and gave him urgent commands.
He said to him:
"The garment of brightness I give thee,
that thou mayest therewith light the darkness of the frail house.
When the radiance of the sun is covered,
thy brightness will rise.
Thou shalt be a sign for the reckoning of months and years,
and thou shalt give light over the face of the world
and free it of the gloom
and the grief of the frail house.
Give light and shine
and make firm their people in high measure."
Then the moon said
to the One who had clothed him with brightness:
"One day in the month I remain hidden,
and my rays are veiled.
Veiled are my rays,
and the two guardians take heed of it."
Then the Lord said to him,
who had clothed him with brightness:
"Thou art a sign and a servant, and not a lord.
Thou art not to be worshipped, nor are any to be worshipped besides God.
Carry out the course that is set for thee."
Then he called to him, commanded, warned and admonished him
and imposed on him steadfastness and attentiveness.
He said to him:
"Take heed of the people of souls
whom thou hast left in the world."
He bowed and withdrew from him
and went to the House of Abathur.
