Plain text of Fifth Book, Fifth Part

This is the Book of Silmai, the Lord of the House.

The Lord of Greatness shone

and gave light through the Uthras, His servants.

This is the mystery and the book of Silmai, the Lord of the House. In the Name of the One who has come, in the Name of the One who comes, and in the Name of the One who shall come into being. In the Name of that stranger who pierced through the worlds, came, split the firmament and revealed himself. He gave light and came to the dwellings of all the planets, set up his throne and sat upon it. The Good One reflected, understood and informed himself about the past, the present and the future, and about that mountain, the mountain Carmel.

He came and found the seven and the twelve warriors, who hold in their hands the scrolls of falsehood and sit over the months, years, hours, days, seconds, hours of birth and times.

Ewath, the lying Deceiver, came, called each single man by name, charged each single man with works; she called them, charged them and sent them into this world. She also called Silmai, the Lord of the House, and said to him: "Silmai, Lord of the House, rise early in the morning, go to the bank of the Jordan and to the good reservoir of remedies. Wash your hands in truth and cleanse your fingers in the bright, mighty (water) of the Jordan. Go up and go before your father Jathrun, the perfect man. When your father sees you, he will let the kingship, the goodness and the victory of this world be given to you."

As Ewath, the lying Deceiver, said to Silmai, the Lord of the House, so he did. He rose early in the morning, went to the bank of the Jordan and to the great, good reservoir of remedies. He washed his hands in truth and cleansed his fingers in the bright, mighty (water) of the Jordan. He went up before his father Jathrun, the perfect man, bowed his body and showed respect to his father.

When his father saw him, the Good One grew angry, who had never been angry; the Good One was wrathful, who had never been wrathful. He wanted to stamp upon the earth, to destroy him, to hang him on the great spheres of firmness and to cast them upon their faces on the face of the earth.

Before him stood three hundred and sixty-two disciples. They said to their father, the perfect man: "You have declared in your speech, O Jathrun, and stated firmly at your baptism, that at the gate of the house of life there is no rage and wrath. If you inquire of Silmai, the Lord of the House, about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world, and he gives it to you, let a throne be set up for him among the men, his fathers. If you inquire of him and he does not give it to you, let him go back to that world from which he came."

The Good One calmed himself and said to him: "Silmai, Lord of the House! A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where did this earth come to be, upon what is the anvil set, to whom was the great sea given?"

Then he answered him: "My father! This earth was forged firm. The anvil rests on the black water. The great sea was given to the liar."

Then he said to him: "Beautiful is what you have told me, beautiful are the secret words that come out of your mouth. Go, sit on your great throne of honor, which is set up for you among the men, your fathers."

When he was about to go and sit down, the master called his pupil, asked him and said to him: "O Silmai, Lord of the House! A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where did these firmaments come to be, upon what are they stretched, on what do they hang and by what are they lit?"

Then he answered him: "My father! These firmaments consist of seven heavy water-mists, which God by His power stretched out and lifted high. Between each one hang lamps of splendor, and they are lit by the power of the angels."

Then he said to him: "Beautiful is what you have told me, beautiful are the secret words that come out of your mouth. Go, sit on your great throne of honor, which is set up for you among the men, your fathers."

When he was about to go and sit down, the master called his pupil and said to him: "Silmai, Lord of the House! A word has reached me from the house of my Lord about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where is the sun, of what is its nature, from where its heat, from where its cold, from where its splendor?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The sun came to be from the earth, its nature is of the nature of the created things, its heat and cold are from the heat and cold that God has appointed, its splendor is from the splendor of the mighty, unseen God, the Exalted, who is above all works."

A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where is the moon, of what is its nature, from where its brightness, from where its pleasantness?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The moon came to be from the earth, its nature is of the nature of the created things, its brightness and pleasantness are from the brightness and pleasantness of the great, beloved, first light of God, whose dwelling rests above the hundred and sixty-seven mighty, upper worlds of light. Each world measures for itself a thousand times a thousand miles, and ten thousand times ten thousand dwellings rest in it, in each single dwelling live a thousand times a thousand Uthras, and each single Uthra inhabits a dwelling."

Then he said to him: "Beautiful is what you have told me, beautiful are the secret words that come out of your mouth. Go, sit on your great throne of honor, which is set up for you among the men, your fathers."

When he was about to go and sit down, the master called his pupil, asked him and said to him: "Silmai, Lord of the House! A word has reached me from the house of my Lord about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where is the water, of what is its nature, from where its good taste, from where its power?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The water came from the earth, its nature is of the nature of created things, its power from the power of the darkness and its good taste from the good taste of the living water."

A word has reached me from the house of my Lord about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where is the fire, of what is its nature, from where its appearance, from where its smoke?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The fire came from the earth, its nature is of the nature of created things, its power from the power of the darkness and [its smoke] from the house of Satan."

A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world: From where is the wind, of what is its nature, from where its power, from where its pleasantness?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The wind came from the earth, its nature is of the nature of created things, its power from the power of the darkness and its pleasantness from the pleasantness of the ether."

A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world." Further he said to him: "What are the upper things, what the lower?"

Then he answered him: "The upper things are the firmament, the lower the earth."

Then he asked him: "Does the firmament conceive before the earth, or does the earth conceive before the firmament?"

Then he answered him: "My father! The firmament brings rain and dew, and the earth opens her mouth and receives it. Then she brings forth fruits, crops and orchard fruit, of which the children of Adam eat and drink, without thanking their Lord."

A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world." Further he said to him: "Who are the outer things, who the inner?"

Then he answered him: "The outer things are the man, the inner the woman."

Then he asked him: "Does the man conceive before the woman, or does the woman conceive before the man?"

Then he answered him: "The seed forms in the body of the man through forty-two days. Then he hands over to the woman the seed, the stock, the root, and from it is knit the marrow, the bones and the sinews."

Then he asked him: "What does the woman give to the child?"

Then he answered him: "She gives it the blood, the skin, the forms and the hair."

Then he asked him: "By what does the child come into being in the mother and by what does it grow?"

Then he answered him: "The child grows by the seven mysteries of its father and its mother."

Then he asked him: "From where does the nourishment for the child come?"

Then he answered him: "The nourishment for the child comes from within the mother."

Then he asked him: "When the measure for the child is full and it is to be born, how is it born?"

Then he answered him: "My father! When the measure for the child is full, the pains are cast into the mother's inner loins, and the child is struck. Then the head turns downward and the legs upward. Then the child is born."

A word has reached me from the house of life about the orders, qualities and words, the depths of the Nasoraean faith and the interpretations of this world." Further he said to him: "When the measure of the world is full, in what manner will it be full?"

All the information that his father desired of him, he knew in his mind in order to give it to him; this information he did not know in his mind in order to give it to him. He felt humbled and sat down below the three hundred and sixty-two disciples.

Then the Treasure of Light, the great rest and support of the faithful, went and came, found him and said to him: "Why do you sit there, Silmai, Lord of the House?"

He answered him: "My father desired of me an answer that I did not know in my mind in order to give it to him."

Then he said to him: "The answer that your father desired of you, I know in my mind. If your father summons you before him and says to you: 'Did you know this answer in your mind and not give it to me, or did one of the Uthras, the sons of light, instruct you about it?', then say to him: 'I knew it in my mind, and yet I did not give it to you, because my foot did not stand firm before you.' Further say to him: 'When the measure of the world is full, the earth falls into ruins and the heaven rolls up like mats. The sun draws in its splendor, the moon draws in its brightness, the stars and the constellations fall off like withered leaves. The fire goes into its sheath, the water into its sheaths. The four winds of the house take one another by the wings and do not blow.'"

Then he asked him: "Where do the Deceiver, the false claimants, the planets and the souls of the wicked, who professed allegiance to them, go? Where do they go, where do they come, and where do they receive their dwelling?"

Then he answered him: "The Deceiver, the false claimants, the planets and the souls of the wicked, who professed allegiance to them, call to one another, take one another by the hand, are bound, go and fall like a pomegranate of lead into Ur, the lord of darkness, into his own great body. It smokes, the fire is kindled and consumes Ur, the lord of darkness, Ewath, the lying Deceiver, the planets and the souls of the wicked who professed allegiance to them."

Then Silmai, the Lord of the House, rose, went before Jathrun, the perfect man, and said to him: "My father! The answer that you desired of me I will give you. When the measure of the world is full, the earth falls into ruins, and the heaven rolls up like mats. The sun draws in its splendor, the moon draws in its brightness, the stars and the constellations fall off like withered leaves. The fire goes into its sheath, the water into its sheaths. The four winds of the house take one another by the wings and do not blow. The Deceiver, the false claimants, the planets and the souls of the wicked, who professed allegiance to them, call to one another, go to one another, take one another by the hand, are bound, go and fall like a pomegranate of lead into Ur, the lord of darkness, into his own great body. Smoke rises in his belly, the fire is kindled and consumes Ur, the lord of darkness, Ewath, the lying Deceiver, the planets and the souls of the wicked who professed allegiance to them."

Then his father said to Silmai, the Lord of the House: "Did you know this answer in your mind and not give it to me, or did one of the Uthras, the sons of light, tell it to you?"

He answered him: "This answer was granted to me by Hibil-Ziwa."

Then he said to him: "Go, go, you who are bereft of splendor, cut off from light, whom God cut off from Himself and the Uthras left behind."

Truth is victorious over all works, and victorious is Jawar-Ziwa and his helpers.
