Plain text of Right Ginza, Third Book: The Book of the Living, First Teaching (13)
His helpers who go with him
are men set over the souls.
When they came to the Tibil
and to the bodily trunk,
when he wanted to cast it (the soul) into the trunk,
I took it from his pocket.
While Ptahil laid hold of Adam,
I set his bones upright.
While he laid his hands upon him,
I let him smell the fragrance of the Mighty One.
The body became full of marrow,
and the splendour of life spoke in him.
When the splendour of life spoke in him,
he opened his eyes in the bodily trunk.
When the splendour of life spoke in him,
Adakas-Ziwa ascended to his place.
I led him to his place, to the house of the Mighty One,
the place where the Great One is enthroned.
I handed him over to the keepers of the treasure,
the Uthras who have the river in their charge.
God was pleased with the Uthra
who brought the soul.
The Great One called out to me, commanding,
and said to me: "Go, call out a noble voice.
A noble voice call out,
that the wicked learn nothing of the soul."
I came and found the wicked,
all of them, how they sit there.
How the wicked sit there
and pour sorcery over it.
They pour sorcery over it,
and the wicked want to divide it into separate parts.
When I beheld them,
I shone in my pure garment.
I showed myself to the worlds in the rich splendour
that my Lord had bestowed upon me.
I showed myself to Ptahil-Uthra,
and he howled and wept over himself.
He howled and wept over himself
because of what he had done.
I showed myself to the seducing Ruha,
who seduces all the world.
I showed her the great sign
by which the rebels are cast down.
I showed her the great sign,
but she was blind and saw nothing.
I showed her a second,
and I laid a camel-halter upon her.
I showed her a third sign,
and I struck a cleft in her head.
When they beheld me, they all fell into fear and declared themselves guilty;
the Seven declared themselves guilty.
They declared themselves guilty,
threw themselves down and fell on their faces.
They threw themselves down and fell on their faces;
they laid their hands upon their faces.
They said:
"Our Lord! We have sinned and erred,
but forgive us all our sins."
When the wicked spoke so,
I made a breach in their phalanx.
I adjured them by the great sign
that they must not transgress against the soul.
I hid myself from the Seven, I restrained myself,
I took bodily form.
I took bodily form
and said to myself that I would not frighten the soul.
The soul I will not frighten,
and let it not be frightened in its garment.
I appeared to it in bodily form
and sat down by it in splendour.
I spread splendour over him from the great Spirit
from which he had been created.
I sat down by him and taught him about that
which God had charged me with.
I preached to him with a noble voice,
which was noble and brighter than all the world.
I preached to him with a gentle voice
and awakened his heart from sleep.
I spoke with him in the speech of the Uthras
and taught him my wisdom.
From my wisdom I taught him and told him
that he should arise and worship and praise the Mighty One.
Let him praise the high place,
the abode where the good dwell.
Let him praise his Lord,
from whom he came.
As I sat and instructed him,
he arose, worshipped and praised the Mighty One.
He praised his Lord,
who had created him.
When he worshipped and praised his Lord,
He appeared to him from the hidden place.
When he beheld his Lord,
he became full of praise beyond measure.
He sang hymns with a loud voice
and overthrew the planets.
He overthrew the planets,
overthrew the lords of the world.
He denied the sons of the house
and all the works they had made.
He bore witness to the name of God
and to the Uthra who had made him hear his voice.
He denied the works of the Tibil
and lifted his eyes to the place of light.
When he did this,
the Uthra of Life became full of kindness toward him.
He became full of kindness toward him
and had a dwelling built for him.
He had a dwelling built for him
and had a plantation planted for him.
He had a river made for him,
so that, when his measure is full,
he might lift him up and set him in his dwelling;
set him up in the place of light, in the presence of his Lord,
and make him an Uthra in the place of light.
When Ruha and the planets heard of this,
they all sat in lamentation.
All sat in lamentation,
then they began to devise (evil) plans.
