Plain text of Book Three · Sixtieth Piece
A being of radiance, one of the radiant, am I,
a being of radiance, one of the mighty am I,
a being of radiance, one of the great am I.
Who brought me into the Tibil and made me dwell there?
Who made me dwell in the Tibil,
in the house that the liars built?
He made me dwell in consuming fire,
that is dark and gives no light.
It is dark and gives no light,
there is no gleam of light in it.
I spread light over them,
but they remain dark.
I am of the first radiance;
who made me dwell in the house of the Seven?
Who made me dwell in the house of the Seven,
and who spread their garment over me?
Who cast me into the body
of wormwood, bitter herb and ......?
Woe and grief it was to me
that I had to dwell in the world.
Woe and grief it was to me
in my garment, when it (the body) put it on and when it took it off.
When will the exalted man come,
who let me hear his voice?
He let me hear his gentle voice,
caressed and strengthened me.
He revealed and showed me
shining and steadfast mysteries.
As he stands and seeks enlightenment,
the man, the helper, comes near.
The exalted helper comes,
he, and with him great radiance.
He took off him the bodily garment
of wormwood, bitter herb and ......
He freed him from their desire
and washed from him the fear of them.
He put on him the garment of the Great Living God
and led him past the man who created him.
He led him past the dwellings
in which he had lived.
He led him past the sons of salvation,
the men who offer truth.
He lifted him up and showed him Hauraran,
in which the souls are made perfect.
The souls are made perfect in it,
and it will be a witness for them.
He quickly put on him the garment of living fire,
lifted him up and set him up in the house of perfection. —
The Living God is exalted and victorious,
and victorious is the man who went this way.
