Plain text of Right Ginza, Third Book: The Book of the Living, First Teaching (12)
and we shall ...... all the world.
The five rulers of the house
shall rise up and wage war."
When Ptahil beheld them,
it dawned on him in his understanding.
He clenched his fist
and struck the forecourts of his breast.
He said:
"Before I go to my Lord's house,
I shall set a lord over this world.
The lords of the house do not know
that this world has a Lord."
When he went to the abode of life, to his Lord,
the Uthra said to him: "I have carried out the creation of the world."
Ruha made Hmurthas
and made Astartes, who are veiled.
She formed Liliths
of every kind and sort.
The planets made demons,
numerous and without limit.
The fiends made devs
as their likeness in the world.
The Five fashioned the sword,
they who are set over wrath in the world.
Of some the likenesses are on the earth,
of others in the turbid water.
"We shall dwell in the heaven,
but our creatures in the whole world.
The earth shall belong to us,
and no one else shall rule this world.
The house which our father built for us
we shall inhabit after him.
For we are the lords of the house;
Ruha shall be the lady in our place.
Ruha d-Qudsha with us,
we shall be its guardians.
The twelve constellations shall step forward
and divide days and months.
They shall divide hours and sossi,
they shall divide minutes and seconds.
If we do this,
the whole house will belong to us."
From the time the earth was compacted until Adam came, it was three hundred and sixty thousand years. From the time Adam came until the end of the world it is four hundred and eighty thousand years. The seven evil powers apportioned the years, so that none was short-changed before another. The seducer Ruha apportioned the whole world. Of the twelve children of the deficient one, none had less than another. Ruha and all the planets did not know or suspect that the world has a Lord and that helpers stand at His side. As they stand and make their plans and want to give the world a lord of their own, there is nothing that is endless.
Ptahil returned again to the world and listened to what his Lord had said to him. He said: "I have come to create a beloved servant. I shall create and establish him; then let him arise and praise the Mighty One. When he stands on his feet, he will strike with his hand against the wild beasts. With his hand he will strike against the wild beasts and the cattle and direct them to be of use, on account of what the planets did. They apportioned the (earthly) dominion so that it should belong to the bodies, that these eat all cattle and all the fruits of the earth, which all came from the fruits of the waters."
When Ptahil came and said to all the planets: "We shall make Adam, that he be king over the world," when he spoke so to them, all took counsel together: we shall tell him that we want to make Adam and Hawwa, for he belongs to us. They say to him now: "Come, we shall make Adam and Hawwa, the head of the whole race."
When the planets spoke so to him, Ptahil was saddened in heart and said: "If I alone make Adam and Hawwa, the head of the whole race, what will Adam know to do in the world?"
Then Ptahil-Uthra said to the planets and told them: "Adam is God's appointed one, the king of this world." Then the planets said to Ptahil: "In whom then shall we put our trust, and over what do we have power in the world?" Ptahil answered them and said: "You shall be caretakers to him and be at his service in every respect."
Then they formed Adam and laid him down,
without a soul being in him.
When they formed Adam,
they could not cast a soul into him.
Then they called the wind of the air,
that it hollow out his bones.
It hollowed out his bones,
and marrow formed in them.
Marrow formed in them,
that he might stand firm on his feet.
They called the radiance of the living fire,
that it make his garment bright.
It made his garment bright,
that he might stand firm on his feet.
They called the vapour of the streams
and the smoke of the consuming fire,
that they enter his trunk,
that he might clench his fist
and strike out with his arms,
that he might scold and shake himself,
that he might stand firm on his feet.
The planets then spoke
and turned to Ptahil:
"Grant us that we cast into him of the spirit
which you brought with you from the Father's house."
All the planets exerted themselves for it,
the lords of the world exerted themselves for it.
But although all exerted themselves,
they could not set him upon his feet.
Then Ptahil arose in his enlightenment
and ascended to the place of light.
He stepped before the Lord of the Uthras,
and his Lord said to him: "What have you accomplished?"
He answered him:
"What I created otherwise has succeeded,
but my likeness and Yours has not succeeded."
Then the Lord of the Uthras arose,
set out and went to the hidden place.
He fetched the spirit,
that it might enlighten all perishable things,
that it might enlighten the garment of the body,
of every kind and sort.
He wrapped it in his pure turban
with the names that God had given him.
He took it by the ends of his turban,
brought it and handed it over to Ptahil.
When he handed it over to Ptahil-Uthra,
God called the helpers.
He called Hibil, Sitil and Anos,
the Uthras who are outstanding and without lack.
He called them and gave them commands
and warnings concerning the souls.
He said to them:
"Guard it,
that all the world learn nothing about it.
Let the wicked Ptahil not learn
how the soul falls into the body.
How the soul falls into the body,
and how the blood speaks in it.
How the blood speaks in it
and how it penetrates through it ......
Adakas-Mana
shall be a guardian to it.
When he (Adam) clothes himself in the splendour of life
and stands firm on his feet,
when he speaks with a pure mouth,
bring him back to his place.
Bring him back to his place
and guard him from this and that."
Ptahil wrapped it in his pure turban
and covered it with his garment.
The Uthra flies and goes,
and his helpers go with him.
