Plain text of Right Ginza, Third Book: The Book of the Living, First Teaching (11)
On the first day (the heaven) split and lightning flashed.
On the second day it thundered.
On the third day (the heaven) was surrounded by flames of fire.
On the fourth day a quaking quaked at the gates of darkness.
On the fifth day her (Ruha's) heart cramped and was sad.
Her mind felt the pain of a woman in travail giving birth.
She travailed and bore five shapes,
none of which resembled another.
None resembled another,
and they stumbled over one another.
From them the fault proceeds,
which all worlds cannot withstand.
When she saw them,
she struck her head with her hands.
With her hands she struck her head
and tore out the locks on her head.
The locks on her head she tore out
and brought crookedness into her heart.
She said:
"I have run, my lord, but not arrived;
I have loaded torment upon myself.
I did not see them and found no satisfaction,
I spoke, and it did not come to pass.
All my sorcery was lost to me,
and all my words left me.
What have I gained that I destroyed my possessions,
and what have I gained that I put on my garment?
What have I gained that I put on my garment,
when I have no share in the house?"
Ptahil thought in his mind,
took counsel in his wisdom and said:
"I shall arise, bow myself before God
and submit myself to the Great One.
It is my wish to take a garment of living fire
and walk about in the turbid water.
In the turbid water I shall walk about
and declare what shall be."
When Ptahil, by the wise plan he had made,
had worshipped and praised God,
he received a garment of living fire
and walked about in the turbid water.
When the living fire mingled
with the turbid water,
through the fragrance of the garment of living fire
dust rose from the earth Siniawis.
From the earth Siniawis dust rose
and fell everywhere.
All the seas were stopped up,
all pits were stilled.
Dry land arose,
a compacting formed and fell into the water.
A curtain lifted itself on high,
rose up and set itself at the heart of heaven.
When the firmament was stretched out,
he bowed himself and praised the One who was his Creator.
When he beheld the high throne,
he rejoiced and was glad of heart.
He grasped the navel of the earth
and wanted to fasten it to the heart of heaven.
When he wanted to grasp the navel of the earth,
the frail ones circled around him.
The basket of the crafty circled around him,
which is full of (false) wisdom.
It is full of illusion,
the woman's basket of sorcery.
The seven planets circled around him
and the twelve vain fiends.
Atarpan and Lufan circled around him,
the two princes of the world,
Urpel and Marpel,
who are set over wrath in the Tibil.
They circled around the great dragon,
rose up and stood at the vault.
When he grasped the navel of the earth,
lifted it up and bound it to the vault,
when he grasped the high ring of the firmament,
rose up and bound it to his throne,
the planets were bound,
and they rose up and stood at the vault.
The fiends stood
and were fettered in their bonds.
Their five leaders
cry out lamenting: Woe, woe.
Ptahil in his wisdom sits
and questions them one by one:
"Whence came you, you wicked ones,
whose form does not come from the Father's house?"
When he spoke so to them,
Ruha answered him from below:
"We come, we want to be your servants,
we want to step forward and be your helpers.
Helpers we want to be to you in all that you undertake,
and leave you undisturbed on your throne.
We want to leave you undisturbed on your throne,
we want to step forward and keep the world in order.
We want to be good
and devoted to you in every respect."
When the seven planets spoke so to him,
he answered them: "You are my children.
If you do good works,
I shall count you on my side."
When Ptahil spoke so,
the house was taken from him.
The house was taken from him,
and the frail ones received dominion over it,
as before the firmament was stretched out
and the earth made firm by the compacting.
When Ptahil spoke so,
the house was taken from him.
Ptahil is enlightened in his understanding and says:
"I shall arise and ascend to the house of my Lord.
I shall say to my exalted Lord:
All that You commanded me I have carried out."
When Ptahil spoke so,
Ruha is enlightened in her cunning and says:
"I shall create Hmurthas and Astartes,
who shall be my children in the world.
The planets and their demons
shall rise up in opposition.
The fiends and devs shall rise up,
