Plain text of Right Ginza, Third Book: The Book of the Living, First Teaching (9)
against whom the fire did not transgress.
The fire did not transgress against him:
the Uthra shone in his splendour.
In his splendour the Uthra shone
and made a path for the perfect.
For the perfect he made a path
and grants salvation to the perfect.
Salvation he grants to the perfect
and remembers their name in the house of the Mighty One."
The Uthra was of good cheer and glad
when God showed him gratitude.
He caressed and kissed the Uthra
and handed him Truth like one of the mighty.
"He did and prospered" He named the Uthra.
"In all that you do you shall prosper.
When you create and plant Uthras,
if your Uthras want to go to that place,
[let them go], for God is exceedingly grateful."
I received Truth from Him
and went to the house of the mighty,
to the place where the good dwell,
to the place where the good dwell.
When I arrived at the house of the good,
I bowed myself before the Mighty One.
As soon as I wanted to speak to the Great One,
the Great One Himself spoke to me.
As soon as I wanted to tell Him,
the Great One thanked me.
The Great One thanked me
and told me about everything.
The Great One called me in His majesty
a great one beyond measure.
The Great One called me "He did and prospered",
an Uthra who makes his friends firm.
"He did and prospered" the Great One called me:
"In all that you do you shall prosper.
You shall be a leader of the Uthras,
who provides his friends with provision.
You are the chosen of the Uthras,
and shall set right all works.
Set right all works,
for you are 'He did and prospered'.
Manda d-Haije,
you vigorous, well-equipped Uthra,
arise, lead forth the leading of the living water
and conduct it to that world.
Call the three Uthras
who are to guard the treasure of life.
They are to guard the treasure of life
which is brought from here.
Simple Uthras fetch it
and bring it to that world.
They put it into mire
and clothe it in the colour of flesh.
They put it into mire
and clothe it with a vain garment.
With a vain garment they clothe it
and bring lack and fault upon it.
Lack and fault they bring upon it,
and crookedness arises among them.
Among them crookedness arises,
and this and that befalls them."
Then the Second arose.
His Uthras arose and gave him counsel,
saying:
"Grant us that we create a world and set up dwellings for you,
which shall be called yours."
Then the Second granted them of his splendour and his light
and of what God had granted him besides.
He granted them of his splendour
and commanded them to create a world.
The followers of the Second arose,
went and descended to the place of darkness.
They called forth Ptahil-Uthra,
they called him forth and made him firm in his place.
They called forth the servants of salvation
and set them upright on their thrones.
They called forth and made dwellings
and created Uthras in them.
They went to the streams of water,
looked and beheld the place of darkness.
B'haq-Ziwa exalted himself in his soul
and regarded himself as mighty.
As mighty he regarded himself
and abandoned the name his Lord had given him.
He said:
"I am the father of the Uthras.
The father of the Uthras am I,
who made dwellings for the Uthras."
He mused over the turbid water
and said: "I shall create a world."
He did not take counsel with himself
and did not know the turbid water.
The turbid water he did not know,
he did not know the consuming fire in which there was no splendour.
The father of the Uthras took no counsel,
and he granted them no helpers.
He called Ptahil-Uthra,
caressed and kissed him as one of the mighty.
He gave him names
that are hidden and kept in their place.
He gave him the name Gabriel, the messenger,
called him, charged him and said to him:
"Arise, go, descend
to the place where there are no dwellings and no worlds.
Create and make for yourself a world
like the servants of salvation whom you have beheld.
Create and set up a world.
Create a world for yourself and form Uthras in it."
In his pride the father of the Uthras told him nothing of the opposition;
he did not equip him and did not instruct him.
Ptahil-Uthra arose,
went and descended below the dwellings,
to the place where there is no world any more.
He stepped into the muddy mire,
stepped into the turbid water.
He began to speak,
and the living fire changed (on him).
When the living fire changed,
he grew sad in his heart and said:
