I was redeemed, my measure was full,

the Great Living God sent for me.

I speak to my shoots

and instructed the great ones.

To my shoots I speak,

to the great ones I gave commands:

"My shoots, I am leaving you;

what will you do, my shoots?"

I sat down in the shade of my vines,

and my radiance rose over my vines.

Over my vines my radiance rose,

and my vines spoke from their place.

They declare and say:

"You depart from us, O man,

what do you charge us with?

Speak to us of your name,

a living word, extended and endless.

Speak to us of the hidden words

and of the steadfast soul, when it goes out.

Tell us what the Great Living God has charged it with

when it departs from the world."

"I will tell you of the hidden words

and of the steadfast soul.

When it departs from here,

the Seven are its adversaries.

As far as the house of Ptahil

the Seven stand in opposition to the soul.

When it comes out of the house of Ptahil,

the angel Abathur receives it with his radiance

and with his boundless light.

Because of his far-reaching radiance

fear comes upon the second.

The second rises from his throne

and praises the Mighty Living God:

'Praised be You, Mighty Living God,

that You have sent me this helper.'"

My shoots bowed their heads,

they lamented and wept in their place.

They say:

"You depart from us, O man;

when shall we behold your place?

When shall we behold your form,

which is now hidden from the world?"

Then he answers them:

"If the Great Living God had left me,

I would have grown great among you in the world.

But now that the Great One has called me,

the hidden perfected ones have joined me to themselves.

I was joined to the hidden souls,

to the radiance that blazes in the vine."

The Great Living God speaks to him and charges him,

who in kindness sent for him.

He says to him:

"O man, to whom have you left your shoots,

and who is the man who shall instruct them?"

Then he answers Him:

"Your power will guard them,

and your enlightenment will be a help to them."

And the Living God is victorious.
