I depart from my body,

my time has come, and my measure is full.

My measure is full, my time has come,

and the departure from the body is near.

The watch hastens out.

The body held its mouth closed,

the chamber showed stiffness.

The bodily frame trembled.

The wicked ones pierce my heart.

One of the evil ones said to him:

"Make ready and set guards on the way!"

Go forth, you who depart, O soul,

they will bring you in before the Judge.

Your works and your deeds

will bring you in before the Judge.

Arise, go with him,

with the angel of the Great Living God, who has come to you.

The way that I go

is wide and endless.

Through the passage through which I pass

no rudder penetrates.

The sun does not set over it,

the lamps of light do not grow dark.

The men who are there

put on resplendent wreaths.

They are clothed with a radiance,

a light is spread over them all.

They stand there in equal stature

and take the measure of one another.

When the good speak,

their speech is one. —

The Living God is exalted and victorious,

and victorious is the man who went this way.

Soul, arise, go

with the angel of the Great Living God, who has come to you.
