Provided, well provided am I,

the angels of light have provided me.

I am provided, God has provided me,

I am well provided, the angels of light have provided me.

They provided me with the travel-provision of Kushta,

they equipped me with all their wisdom.

Why was Ptahil,

why did he stir up the world?

Why did the scheme arise

and why did they take me from my place?

They sent me into the world of stumbling-blocks,

which is all full of knots and seals.

It is all full of fire,

sown with thorns and thistles.

It is all full of illusion,

all full of deceit and lies.

The planets who dwell in it

plan evil against me daily.

They plan in wickedness [against me]

and say: "We will make his mind divided."

Of my heart, which is filled with Kushta,

they say: "We will make it stumble from us."

Of my eyes, which look up to the light,

they say: "They shall give (unchaste) signals."

Of my mouth, which praises God,

they say: "It shall speak lies."

Of my hands, which give alms (and hand out Kushta),

they say: "They shall kill."

Of my knees, which bow before God,

they say: "They shall bow before the Seven."

Of my feet, which walk the paths of Kushta (and faith),

they say: "They shall go barefoot."

I lifted my eyes to the height,

with my soul I looked toward the house of life.

When God heard my call,

He sent an escort to meet me.

The escort who came to meet me

brought me a splendid garment.

He unveiled splendour and showed it to me,

and I laid aside the stinking body.

He took me by the palm of my right hand

and led me over the streams of water.

Over the streams of water he led me,

he guided me and stayed me upon the pattern of life.

Life upheld life,

life found its own.

Its own found life,

and my soul, the soul of N.N. of this ascent, found what she hoped for. —

God is victorious,

and victorious is the man who went here.

The soul speaks to the angels:

"My brothers, you angels who sit there,

tell me whence Hibil-Ziwa's dwelling is.

He beguiled me and brought me into the body,

then he left me and ascended to his place."
