Plain text of Chapter Cxxxiii

Book whereby the deceased acquireth might in the Hereafter in presence of the great company of angels. Said on the first day of the month.

The sun, a sign of God, maketh his appearance at the Mount of Glory, with the host of angels about; the Strong One issueth from His hidden abode.

The stars fall away from the Mount of Glory at the East of Heaven, at the command of God, who buildeth up the paths of the sun.

Be thou lifted up, O servant of God; breathe thou the breezes, inhale the north wind, on the day when thou discernest the Land of Righteousness.

Thou dividest them that follow; the Bark advanceth and the ancient ones step onwards at thy voice.

Reckon thou thy bones, and set thy limbs, and turn thy face towards the beautiful Hereafter.

Acclamation cometh from the Mount of Glory, and greeting from the lines of measurement.

The angels who are in heaven, they see N, and greet him.

He is the great one, who reckoneth up that which is needful.

Without haste, but unresting, is N on this Land of Eternity.

Twice blessed is he that seeth with his eyes and heareth with his ears.

Right, right is N: and his future, his future, is in Annu.

His oars are lifted as in the service of his Lord.

N hath not told what he hath seen; he hath not repeated what he hath heard in the house of the Lord, who is veiled.

There are hailing and cries of welcome to N on traversing the waters.

The deceased acquireth honour with his Lord, and is enabled to possess power by God's leave, and when the dead see him they fall upon their faces. He is seen in the Hereafter even as the beams of light.
