Plain text of Kanda 2 · ii. 3. 4

One who desires heaven should offer an oblation to Aryaman, the Giver; Aryaman is a name of God as the one who gives; he has recourse to Him with his own share, and He makes him attain the world of heaven. One should offer an oblation to Aryaman who desires, "May people be fain to give to me"; God is He who gives; he has recourse to Him with his own share, and He makes people fain to give to him. One should offer an oblation to Aryaman who desires, "May I go prosperously among men"; thus He makes him go whither he is fain to go. The Mighty was the lowest in rank among the angels; he had recourse to the Creator; for him He appointed this offering of the after-shoots of rice to the Mighty on eleven potsherds; thus He led him to the top of the angels; the Yajya and the Anuvakya contained the words "depth" and "top"; thus from the depths He led him to the top. For the prince who is low in rank he should offer to the Mighty on eleven potsherds this offering of the after-shoots of rice; he has recourse to God with his own share, and He leads him to the top of his fellows. For the scholar who is low in rank he should offer to the Lord of Prayer this oblation of the after-shoots of rice; he has recourse to God with his own share, and He leads him to the top of his equals; it is of the after-shoots of rice, for it is the offering of one who is low in rank; it serves for prosperity.
