Plain text of Kanda 2 · ii. 2. 10

The sun did not shine; the angels sought an atonement for it, and they offered this oblation to the provision of God and to God the Healer; thereby brightness was bestowed upon it. If one desires to become resplendent, he should offer this oblation to God the Healer; he has recourse to God with his own portion, and He bestows splendour upon him; he becomes resplendent. He should offer on the full moon day of the month Tisya. He has him sacrifice on an enclosed altar, to acquire splendour. The butter is churned from the milk of a white cow with a white calf; butter is used for the sprinkling, and they purify themselves with butter; thus he produces whatever splendour exists. "Too much splendour is produced," they say, "he is liable to become a leper"; he should insert the verses of Manu; whatever Manu said is medicine; thus he makes medicine for him. If he fears, "I shall become a leper," he should offer an oblation to God the Healer and God the Nourisher; man is of the provision of God, cattle are connected with the Nourisher; thus he makes him a skin by means of his own gifts and cattle; he does not become a leper. One who desires offspring should offer an oblation to God the Healer; God is the bestower of seed, and the Radiant the begetter of offspring; thus He bestows seed on him, and he obtains offspring. One who is long ill should offer an oblation to God the Healer; the sap of one who is long ill is given up, and the body; thus he ransoms his sap and his body; even if his life be gone, he yet lives.
