Plain text of Kanda 2 · iii. 4. 6

What the righteous did at the sacrifice, the rejecters did. The righteous saw these overpowering Homas, they performed them; the rite of the righteous succeeded, that of the rejecters did not succeed. If he is desirous of prospering in a rite, then should he offer them, and in that rite he prospers. In that all the angels brought together the materials, the Abhyatanas are connected with them; in that the Creator bestowed the victories, therefore the Jayas are connected with the Creator; in that they won the kingdom by the Rashtrabhrits, that is why the Rashtrabhrits, supporters of the kingdom, have their name. The righteous overpowered their foes with the Abhyatanas, conquered them with the Jayas, and won the kingdom with the Rashtrabhrits; in that they overpowered (abhyatanvata) them with the Abhyatanas, that is why the Abhyatanas have their name; in that they conquered (ajayan) them with the Jayas, that is why the Jayas have their name; in that they won the kingdom with the Rashtrabhrits, that is why the Rashtrabhrits have their name. Then the righteous prospered, the rejecters were defeated. One who has foes should offer these offerings; thus by the Abhyatanas he overpowers his foes, by the Jayas he conquers them, by the Rashtrabhrits he wins the kingdom; he prospers himself, his foe is defeated.
