Plain text of The Gatha Spenta Mainyu · Visparad XXI

1 We strive earnestly, and we take up our Yasna and our homage in thanksgiving to God for the good waters, and for the fertile fruit-trees which bear as of themselves, and for the souls of the saints; yea, we take up our Yasna and our homage earnestly in thanksgiving for those beings which are so good, the waters, and the trees, and the souls of the saints, (2) and for the cattle, and for the first man, and for the bounteous holy word of reason, which works within and for us with effect; for these we take up our Yasnas and our homage with earnest zeal, and to Thee, O Wise Lord! and for thee, O Zarathustra, we do the same; and for the lofty lord of the waters, and for the Bountiful Immortals. 3. And we give thanks to God for the listening that hears our prayers and for that mercy, and for the hearing of our spoken homage, and for that mercy which is shown in response to our offered praise. And we give thanks for the good praise which is without hypocrisy, and which has no malice as its end; and we give thanks for the later Yasna and its offering; and for the chapters of the later Yasna, and its metrical lines, its words, and word-structure.
