Plain text of The Gatha Spenta Mainyu · Yasna 21 (Commentary upon the Yenhe Hatam)
The prayer: That one among beings whose superior fidelity in the sacrifice God the Wise Lord recognises by reason of the sanctity within him; yea, even those female saints also whose superior fidelity is thus likewise known; thus we honour all, both the males and females of the saints!
1 A word for the worship by Zarathushtra, the saint. Here the worshipper indicates and offers the worship of the Wise Lord as by the command, or as the institution, of the Lord. Here the worshipper offers the sacrificial worship as with the beings who are among those destined to live.
2 Here he indicates and offers the worship of those holy women who have Piety at their head, in thanks for the bountiful gifts of God. These are the three sentences which comprehend all the speech of worship. Question: To whom is this worship addressed? Answer: To God, in thanks for His bountiful gifts, in the course of the worship.
3 Thereupon spake the Wise Lord: Salvation to this one, whosoever he may be! May the absolute Ruler grant it. Question: 4. Whom did He answer with this answer? Answer: He answered: The state of salvation; and with this answer, "the state of salvation," He answered every saint who exists, every one who is coming into existence, and every one who shall exist in the future. Question: Who answered thus? Answer: The best One. Question: What did He answer? Answer: The best thing. That is, the best One, the Wise Lord, answered the best and the holy answer for the better and the holy man.
5 We give thanks for this piece, the Yenhe hatam, the prominent and holy hymn.
