Plain text of The Gatha Spenta Mainyu · Yasna 2 (The Worship Continues)

I desire to draw near with my worship to the offerings. I desire to draw near with my worship to the bundle of twigs. I desire to draw near with the offering together with the twigs, and with the twigs together with the offering. Yea, I desire to draw near with this offering here, and with this present bundle of twigs; I desire to draw near with this bundle conjoined with this offering in my praise; and to approach with praise this bundle provided with its offering, with its girdle, and spread with sanctity.

And with this offering and the bundle of twigs I desire to approach God the Wise Lord in my praise, the Lord of the ritual order, and I give thanks for the bountiful gifts which rule aright and dispose of all aright; these also I desire to approach with my praise.

And with this offering and this bundle of twigs I desire to approach God with my praise as the Lord of the ritual days. I desire to approach Him with my praise as Lord of the morning watch, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and of the midday and the evening watch. And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God the Friend with my praise, of the wide pastures, of the thousand ears, and of the myriad eyes, the All-hearing whose name is spoken in praise, and who gives peace to the pasture, the holy Lord of the ritual order.

And with this offering and with the bundle I desire to approach God, Lord of the noon watch, with my praise, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and the Lord of the ordered seasons; and with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God the Righteous, the Best, with my praise, and to give thanks for the light which is the sign of the Wise Lord.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God, Lord of the afternoon watch, with my praise, and Lord of the ordered times of the herds and of the seasons, the holy Lord of the ritual order; and with them that lofty Lord, the kingly and brilliant, the Lord of the waters, of the fleet horses, and likewise the water made by God and holy,

And God, Lord of the evening watch and nightfall, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and Lord of the ordered times of the whole year, and the good, heroic, and bountiful souls of the righteous, and the women who have many sons, and a peaceful and prosperous home-life that continues without reverse throughout the year, and force well-shaped and stately, and the victorious blow God-given, and the victorious ascendency which it secures, and (7) God, Lord of the dawn watch of the ritual order, Lord of the seasons of settlement and of home, and Obedience, the blessed and the stately, who smites with the blow of victory, furthering the settlements, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and God the Most Just, and Rectitude, who furthers the settlements and causes them to increase.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God, Lord of the monthly festivals, with my praise, of the new moon and the waning moon, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and of the full moon which scatters night, (9) and God, Lord of the yearly festivals, the mid-spring season, the mid-summer season, the season of the corn, the season of the herds, the season of mid-year and the all-year gathering, and of the seasons, the holy Lord of the ritual order.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God with my praise as Lord of all the ordered times of the ritual, the three and thirty that come the nearest round about our morning watch, which are those times of the Order of Righteousness the Best, inculcated by God the Wise Lord and spoken forth by Zarathushtra.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God, the Lord and the Friend, with my praise, the lofty, eternal, and holy; and I desire to give thanks for the stars, moon, and sun, with the twigs of the plants and with my praise, and to approach God the Friend, the governor of all the provinces, and God the Wise Lord, the radiant and glorious, and I remember the good, heroic, bountiful souls of the righteous, (12) and I give thanks for the light, the sign of the Wise Lord, the holy Lord of the ritual order, and for all lights! And I desire to approach the good waters with this offering and this bundle with my praise, all the best waters, God-made and holy, and all the plants which are God-made and holy.

And I desire to approach the bountiful sacred word with this offering and this bundle, and with my praise, the most glorious as it is, and with it the law instituted against the powers of evil; yea, I desire to approach the revelation of Zarathushtra with my praise, and with it its long descent, and the good faith of the worshippers of God as complete.

And I desire to approach, in thanks to God, Mount Ushi-darena with this offering and this bundle with my praise, God-made, and glorious with sanctity. And I desire to approach, in thanks to God, all the mountains with my praise, glorious with sanctity as they are, and with abundant glory, God-made; and I desire to approach the mighty kingly glory God-made and unconsumed; yea, even the mighty unconsumed glory God-made. And I desire to approach the good blessedness in my praise, the brilliant, lofty, powerful, and stately, saving by inherent power. Yea, I desire to approach the glory God-made with my praise; and I desire to approach the benefit conferred by God.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach the blessing, pious and good, and the pious and holy man who utters it, and the mighty and redoubted warning of the wise.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach, in thanks to God, these waters with my praise, and these lands and plants, and these places, districts, and pastures, and these dwellings with their springs of water, and God, this land's Ruler, who is the Wise Lord.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God with my praise as Lord of all the greatest ordered times, the days, the months, the years, and the seasons, and I remember the good, heroic, bountiful souls of the righteous.

And with this offering and this bundle I desire to approach God with my praise, the Lord of all the holy times and of His holy angels; yea, God, Lord of the ritual order, at the morning watch in its time, and at the midday in its time, and of all the greatest ordered times of the ritual in their proper seasons.
