Plain text of The Gatha Spenta Mainyu · V. Gah Ushahin
1 Propitiation to the Wise Lord. I confess myself a worshipper of the Wise Lord, of the order of Zarathustra, a foe to the devils, devoted to the lore of the Lord, giving thanks for the night hours until dawn, for worship, homage, propitiation, and praise, and for the holy times of the highest and of the house, the holy times of the order of worship. 2. Propitiation be to blessed Obedience, endowed with recompense, smiting with the blow of victory, and causing the settlements to advance and to increase.
3, 4. (See Gah I, 3, 4.) 5. We give thanks for the night hours until dawn, the holy time of the order of worship; and we give thanks for the beautiful Aurora, and the dawn of morning; yea, we give thanks to God for the morning, the shining, of the glittering horses, having the men of forethought as its servants, yea, having men of forethought and heroes awake and at their work, the morning which gives light within the house. And we give thanks for the lights of dawn which are radiant with their light and fleetest horses which sweep over the sevenfold earth. And we give thanks to God, the Wise Lord, the holy Lord of the order of worship, and for the Good Mind, and for Righteousness the Best, and for the Kingdom to be desired, and for Piety, the bounteous and the good.
6 And we give thanks for the highest and the house, the holy times of the order of worship, with the longing desire for the good Righteousness, and with the longing desire for the good law of those who worship the Wise Lord, for the worship and homage of the Lord of the house. 7. And we give thanks for Obedience, and for Justice, the most just, and for Rectitude, who causes the settlements to advance and to increase. 8, 9. (See Gah I, 9, 10.) 10. And I bless the worship, homage, strength, and swiftness of blessed Obedience, endowed with sanctity, smiting with the blow of victory, and who causes the settlements to advance; and I bless the worship of Justice, the most just, and that of Rectitude, who causes the settlements to advance and to increase. The Ashem and the Ahmai raesha follow.
