1 Propitiation to the Wise Lord! A blessing is Righteousness the Best. I confess myself a worshipper of the Wise Lord of the order of Zarathustra, a foe to the devils, devoted to the lore of the Lord, giving thanks for the afternoon hours, the holy time of the order of worship, for worship, homage, propitiation, and praise, and for the increase of the tribe and its lords, the holy times of the order of worship, for their worship, homage, propitiation, and praise. 2. And to that lofty Lord, Creator of the waters, and to the waters which the Wise Lord created be worship, homage, propitiation, and praise! 3, 4. (G. I, 3, 4.) 5. We give thanks for the afternoon hours, the holy time of the order of worship. And we give thanks for the offering-priest, the holy servant of the order of worship, and for the pounder of the Haoma, and the keeper of the fire, and the helper in the presentations, and the water carrier, and the washer, and the mixer, and the overseer of penance, holy servants of the order of worship. 6. And we give thanks for the increase of the tribe and for its lords, the holy servants of the order of worship. And we give thanks to God for the stars, the moon, and the sun, and the constellations, and for the stars that follow their courses without beginning, and for the glory of the doctrinal proclamations which are the evil man's distress. 7. And we give thanks for the manifest performer of the truth, the correct maintainer of the rites, the holy servant of the order of worship. And we give thanks for the later lore; yea, we give thanks for the manifest fulfiller of the truth, and for the entire creation of the holy and the clean by day and by night with offerings together with offered prayers, for the worship and homage of the Lord of the tribe. And we give thanks to God, the holy Lord of the order of worship. 8. And we give thanks to that lofty and royal Lord, the Creator of the brilliant waters of the fleet horses; and we give thanks for the water which is made by the Wise Lord and holy. 9, 10. And we give thanks to Thee, O Lord, who madest the fire, Thy sign. 11-13. And I bless the worship, homage, strength, and swiftness of that lofty Lord, Creator of the waters, and of the water which the Wise Lord created.
