Plain text of Book 3, Hymn 20
1 This is Thy ordained place, whence Thy light shines forth.
Knowing this, O God the Radiant, rise on high and cause our riches to increase.
2 Turn hither, O God, speak to us, come to us with a friendly mind.
Enrich us, Sovereign of the tribes! Thou art the giver of our wealth.
3 Let God the Companion vouchsafe us wealth, and God the Bestower, and the Lord of Prayer.
O God, grant us wealth and gladness and pleasant speech; give me wealth!
4 We call on God our King, the Giver of provision, and on God the Radiant, with our songs and hymns,
On Him the All-Pervading, the Light-giver, the Lord of Prayer.
5 Do Thou, O God the Radiant, with Thy light strengthen our prayer and worship.
Incite us, O God, to give, and send us riches to bestow.
6 Both God the Mighty here and God the Giver of breath we invoke with an auspicious call,
That in assembly all the folk may be benevolent to us, and be inclined to give us gifts.
7 Urge them to send us gifts, O God the Mighty, Lord of Prayer,
O Wind, O All-Pervading, O Giver of speech, and strong Light-giver.
8 Now have we reached the ordering of power, and all these worlds of life are held within it.
Let him who knows urge e'en the churl to bounty.
Give wealth to us with all good men about us.
9 May heaven's five spacious regions pour their milk for me with all their might.
May I obtain each wish and hope formed by my spirit and my heart.
10 May speech that winneth cows be mine. With splendour mount thou over me.
May God the Protector hedge me round about. May God the Nourisher make me prosperous.
