1 We who enjoying it have grown no richer, for whom the sacred altar-fires have sorrowed, we who compounded with deficient worship, may God the Creator of all make our service prosper.

2 The sages have called the sacrifice's patron amerced through sin, sorrowing for his offspring. That portion of provision whereof he missed enjoyment, may God unite us with that blessing.

3 Regarding niggard churls as worthy, skilful in sacrifice, weak at the meeting, whatever sin the captive hath committed, do Thou for weal release him, O Creator of all!

4 Awe-inspiring are the sages: honour to them, and to their insight and truthfulness of spirit! Loud praise to Thee, O Mighty Lord of Prayer! Homage to Thee, O Creator of all! Guard us.

5 To Him who is the source and beginning of all worship, with voice, ear, spirit I offer. To this our offering made for the Creator's sake may His grace come, gracious and kindly-hearted.
