Plain text of Book 20, Hymn 63

We will, with God and with the aid of all His angels, overcome our foes in these existing worlds. Our sacrifice, our bodies, and our offspring, let God form together with His angels.

With His angels, with the host of the angels of the storm, may God be protector of our bodies; as when the righteous came, after they had overcome the rebels, keeping safe their uprightness,

and brought the sun hitherward with mighty powers, and looked about them on their vigorous strength: with this may we obtain strength God-appointed, and brave sons gladden us through a hundred winters.

He who alone bestoweth might on mortal man who offereth gifts, the ruler of resistless power, is God, sure.

When will He trample like a weed the man who hath no gift for Him? When verily will God hear our songs of praise?

He who among the many harbours Thee in his heart with devotion prepared,—verily he gains thereby tremendous strength.

O God, grant that mighty bounty, known and marked, wherewith Thou smitest down the greedy fiend: for that we pray.

Wherewith Thou holpest Adhrigu and the great Dasagva, wherewith Thou stirrest the sunlight and the sea: for that we pray.

Wherewith Thou dravest forth like cars Sindhu and all the mighty floods to go the way ordained by Law: for that we pray.
