5 To God sing a Saman, sing to the high Sage a lofty song, to Him who keeps the Law, inspired and fain for praise.

6 Thou, O God, art pre-eminent: by Thee the sun was given splendour. Maker of all things, Thou art mighty and Lord of all.

7 Radiant with light Thy glory fills the sky, the luminous realms of heaven; all in heaven, O God, seek Thy favour.

8 Sing forth to Him whom many men invoke, to Him whom many laud: invite the potent God with your songs of praise;

9 Whose lofty might—for doubly strong is He—supports the heaven and earth, and hills and plains and floods and light with manly power.

10 Such, praised by many! Thou art King: alone Thou smitest foemen dead, to gain, O God, spoils of war and high renown.
