Plain text of Book 20, Hymn 61
We sing this strong and glad bounty of Thine, which conquers in the fray, which, O Hurler of the Bolt, gives room and shine like gold.
2 Wherewith Thou also gavest lights for Ayu and for Manu's sake: now, pleased with our devotion, Thou shinest forth.
3 This day too singers of the hymn praise, as of old, this might of Thine. Release the waters, day by day, held in thrall by the strong.
4 Sing forth to Him whom many men invoke, to Him whom many laud: invite the potent God with your songs of praise;
5 Whose lofty might—for doubly strong is He—supports the heaven and earth, and hills and plains and floods and light with manly power.
6 Such, praised by many! Thou art King: alone Thou smitest foemen dead, to gain, O God, spoils of war and high renown.
