Plain text of Book 20, Hymn 26
In every need, in every fray we call, as friends, to succour us, God the Mightiest of all.
2 If He will hear us, let Him send succour of a thousand kinds, and all that strengthens, to our call.
3 I call Him, mighty to resist, the Hero worshipped in our ancient home, Thee whom my father invoked of old.
4 The living beings of the worlds yoke the bright, the ruddy steed of the sun: the lights are shining in the sky.
5 On both sides of the sun's car they yoke the two tawny coursers, bold, bearers of the chief.
6 Thou, sun, a sign of God, making light where no light was, and form, O men, where form was not, wast born together with the Dawns.
