From God's command sprang the waters, sprang the regions, knowledge and holy fervour. The sun ascends by His command, and by His command sinks again to rest.

2 By His command freshly blows the wind, mighty by His command is the earth: on His command rests the mighty sky.

3 By God's command the revealed word declared what is and what is yet to be. From Him came the verses of praise, and from Him the sacrificial formulas.

4 They established sacrifice for God's sake, an everlasting devotion. By His command the angels and the worlds abide.

5 Atharvan and Angiras, His servants, are honoured among the people of heaven, in this world and the world that is most lofty, the pure worlds and pure intermediate spaces,

6 Yea, He who by His knowledge encompasses all the worlds is God Supreme: to Him alone is supplication made.
