By God's decree Time, thousand-eyed and undecaying, a horse with seven reins, bears us onward. Sages inspired with holy knowledge mount him: his chariot wheels are all the worlds of creatures.

2 This Time, ordained by God, hath seven rolling wheels and seven naves; the axle is the immortality God hath decreed. This Time brings hither all worlds about us, at the command of God, the First and the Last, whom we entreat.

3 On Time is laid an overflowing beaker: this we behold in many a place appearing. Time carries from us all these worlds of creatures by God's command; in the loftiest heaven they speak of Time.

4 God only made the worlds of life, He only gathered the worlds of living things together. He is the son of none and the father of none: no other higher power than He existeth.

5 God created yonder heaven, and God made these realms of earth. By His command, stirred to motion, both what is and what shall be expand.

6 God created land: the sun by His decree hath light and heat. In God's knowledge rest all things that be: by His gift doth the eye discern.

7 By God's gift mind, breath, and name are fixed and joined: these living creatures, one and all, rejoice when His mercy hath approached.

8 God encompasses all devotion and divine knowledge; He who is Creator of all creatures is Lord of All.

9 He made, He stirred this universe to motion, and on Him it rests; He upholds the highest by His power.

10 God created living things, and the first of creatures. By His will devotion arose, and by His will every creature was made.
